People who think a collapse will happen has consoomed too much media. Our country will just get browner and shittier. Home ownership is increasingly inaccessible. Car ownership will soon be seen as a luxury. Swathes of the country does not have reliable electricity during moments when it’s needed the most. The entire Southwest is about to lose access to drinking water or hydroelectric power thanks to the Colorado River drying up. Lots of things we used to take for granted are going away.

Yep. It’s been standard amongst evangelicucks since the 1990s that women are to be worshiped and never questioned. I’ve seen skanks load up on kids from different baby daddies and then become born again virgins and some guy falls for it. I’ve actually attended several of these weddings over the years.

The prevailing orthodoxy amongst religious conservatives is to own da libs by how much they love women and minorities. Able to convert a literal meth whore with three kids into a housewife? Take that, libtard! Think we’re racist? Take that San Francisco, we have a large family: one bio kid and three signal niglets! This isn’t an assumption I’ve made, I’ve heard these poor suckers say these words verbatim. They truly think they’re sticking it to California (or Chicago or whatever), land of the fruits and nuts, by pushing their son to marry some tatted up skank. It’s a crazy world out there.
I'd be horrified if what you said is true, the main reason I believe a collapse may come is that I expect the economy to tank in the coming years, we've been building a massive bubble and printed soo much money even now that I feel that a great inflation might push people over the edge and instead of doing something weak like martha's vineyard, people might actually try to attack politicians at either their gated homes or publicly, since what else do we have to lose.

Republican talking points over time become what Democrats advocated for five to ten years earlier.
I wonder if they will follow the Democrats once MAP becomes normalized against everyone's will

Specifically, you're looking for John Glubb and his essay The Fate of Empires and Search for Survival. Rome got two rounds as Octavian's Empire was geographically unchallengeable at the crisis point, but the Glubb Cycle is more of a guideline than a hard and fast rule, but it's more about the changing nature of the people ruled by the Empire and the mismatch between the people and the system of government itself. The Constitution of the United States was designed and written for a particular group of people that no longer exist, and Glubb's point is that it takes about 10-12 generations before the difference becomes too much.
Best example I've come across to describe the idea to the average person is a bone you're trying to bend in your hands. For better or worse society is always moving and applying pressure, something which may relent at times or even temporarily reverse, but something that on the grand scale always increases. No matter how much government and the ruler class resist, no matter how much it looks like the bone is holding up, at some point enough pressure will be exerted to snap the bone and that's the point at which the current 'elite' is overthrown and something new takes its place. What a lot of contrarians miss with Glubb is that he isn't talking about land borders or defined territory, it's political order and structure of a people, which is primarily why Rome is defined twice in his rule of thumb.

Also as an aside this is one of the the reasons I ascribe to Polybius' concept of anacyclosis and why IMO Fukuyama was grossly misunderstood. History doesn't end with liberalism - it's simply the point where the political cycle repeats. Modern liberalism subsuming Grotian theory was probably the biggest mistake in modern political thought.

It’s curious what will be left in a few decades- say what you will about the baby boomers, there are a lot of technically skilled old white men keeping power plants, rail networks, banking networks, water treatment plants going with a thousand little hacks they’ve picked up over the decades. Lots of institutional knowledge is going into retirement in the next few years.

With little investment in actual infrastructure, and replacing meritocratic hires with DIE, we are setting up a cargo cult that just won’t be able to keep the lights on.

I see it already in my industry; the old career path was finding smart blue collar trades guys from the crews and getting them trained in project management. Now they just hire young people with credentials but no actual experience, who think they are above the work they supervise. It’s not the same, to say the least.

Everything will start chain failing and nobody will know dick on how to fix it. At the software level you can see this with archaic infrastructure that has never been migrated, a ton of banking stuff for example has Cobol under the hood, which is basically as old as boomers. Yet people that can actuañly work with it are a dying breed, what happens when something gets fucked and either Dave won't leave retirement to bail your ass or is outright dead?

I can only imagine how much worse that is at the infrastructure level. The younger generations know the user friendly way of doing things but know fuck all about what happens under the hood. Goes back to the meme of "zoomers will be totes tech literate", no no they fucking aren't, they just have agile fingers when it comes to tapping, but the moment the comfy user interface fails, they are as fucked as any grandma, or even worse off since patience as a virtue is dead.

A great deal of banking middleware and server has been migrated to java these days, so it's not quite so dramatic a problem. The huge costs of the y2k mitigation finally tipped the balance toward upgrade rather than maintenance. It's taken years.

Using Indians to make everything go to shit...

Clever

Maybe, but I certainly don't think this is a worldwide thing. I've also heard from people that work with Solaris that it's the same mystery vodoo for the most part and it's very present in some key payment platforms.

The Just World Fallacy makes us think that those who wreck shit will get their comeuppance but it’s just as likely they don’t learn their lessons and skate away from the consequences. We’ve subsisted on bubble economies since the 1980s, just swap out one bubble for another. Everyone gets a little more poor as the federal reserve pumps out trillions more and those at the top keep most of the money, a tale as old as time.
Everything will start chain failing and nobody will know dick on how to fix it.
Yep. Those old guys will come back out of retirement for ungodly amounts of money as consultants but corporations will still be fixated on removing white men to meet ESG scores. So once those old guys decide they want to retire no matter how much money they make as a consultant, that is when shit gets real interesting. That’ll likely be in the 2030s and 2040s.

Not to worry, journalists will be prepared to have articles at the ready like reliable electricity, running water, and knowing how much you have in your bank account is actually white supremacy. The elites will have microgrids, wells, and private banking entities ready to be made available to them, the rest of us are shit out of luck.

Yep I see people like this walking around if you Orthodox Churches I make sure to make them feel really really on welcome as a policy I don't want niggaas in the Orthodox Church just like I don't want Mexicans in the Orthodox Church I like that the Orthodox Church in America is mainly Greek and Eastern European keep your f****** disgusting subhuman ass out of my ethnostate religion

yeah, and then? where do you think it stops? why do you think it will stop?

it's a process, and that is one of the possible outcomes. mad max didn't start at the beyond the thunderdome (tbh you probably see balkanization first where for example florida tells california to fuck off with their retarded shit and does their own east-coast thing etc., how it goes after that is anyone's guess. expect a lot of chimpouts from the shitholes).

Its not the defence, its that a lot of money has to be spent on it, this means that money that would have been used on welfare to prevent chimpouts, on infrastructure and industry and technology not to mention ensuring that their fiat currencies remain stable will end up with internal issues, not now but eventually since they have fucked up their power supply by initially relying on Russia and made their nation's profitability on their cheap imports to be converted to finished manufactured goods, now the cheap raw materials are gonna be more expensive even after the war ends which would lead to an eventual economic downturn, I know recently the german government arrested a bunch of old monarchist for plotting to overthrow the government but once this economic issues come to fruition, there's a chance that more people might be unemployed which would lead to more coup attempts by both the far left and far right, after all electricity is expensive, they can't get a job and everything has been taken up by jews or niggers
yuro-gibsmedats aren't burger gibsmedats tho, once the welfare-well dries up they'll just go somewhere else (just like they moved in for the gibs). of course if there are no gibs anywhere else it might become an issue, but at that point it also means no gibs for the native population (unless TPTB are really dumb) and more importantly the reason for no gibs will also affect the classes above it.
so even if they want to chimp out then, people will react far differently than during the summer of love where everything was still peachy and no one could give a shit while ordering uber eats and watching netflix at home.

as for the monarchists, that's some 1/6 tier bullshit. there might be some "extremists" (and reichsbürger are the absolute extreme), those always exists, but
a) they're such a small minority any "overthrowing the government" is a complete joke. just because you've taken over the parliament building doesn't mean you suddenly own the country, same reason 1/6 is retarded. even more so when the population at large doesn't follow or accept it (the estimate is around 20k of them exists, which you have to take with a huge grain of salt given who makes that claim, and more importantly germany has a population of 84 million. you do the math)
b) anything right of center is glowing so bright you can see it from space, even more so than other countries because MUH NAZEES and germany's self-flagellation complex. you know the joke about busting 10 "alt-right fascists" and you suddenly end up with 11 government agents and undercover cops? that's a reality over there.

just like the US everything's getting shittier, but it's not at a point yet that "coup" or "civil war" is likely. but depending how things go that's simply the natural evolution at some point. however it makes good news-bites for the npc population, when you publicly protest against unlimited immigration or overreaching corona measures you're obviously an enemy of democracy.

By "collapse," I think @NeoGAF Lurker is referring to a common American fantasy that one day, you wake up, and the banks have failed, the power's gone out, the government's gone dark, and thank God you have pallets full of canned food and a safe full of AR-15s.

It's a core part of the learned helplessness of the American right. We like to imagine that, rather than things grinding to a halt over a century or two, all of a sudden, certainly within our lifetimes, the failures of the current system will all manifest at once, the libtards, urban soyboys, and university professors will instantly all lose their credibility, and it will be up to us to rebuild America the way it's supposed to be.

The idea that it's going to crumble apart, bit by bit, as we lurch forward over the next couple centuries, until we become an Argentina-tier basket case isn't something conservatives want to think about, because it means nobody's ever going to call the guy with the gun closet to come save them.

things tend to sped up over time tho, till it crashes into a wall and people go "how could this happen?!".

will that scenario happen this way? probably not, unless you live maybe in detroit or in the wrong part of town during the summer of love. but you already have the power going out, the banks failed in 2008 (and got bailed out), and the government is getting more retarded by the minute. so it's not like it can't happen or never will, only how widespread it is and how long it's gonna last. reality is much more mundane and boring than whatever hollywood made it appear.

So Biden went here on “vacation” and gracious me! What a coincidence!

The decision by Governor Albert Bryan to fire the A.G. came just days after Bloomberg News revealed that Ms. George in her capacity as V.I. attorney general had filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase — the largest bank in the United States and the world's largest bank by market capitalization — without first informing Governor Bryan of such a major action, said a person with knowledge of the matter.
The lawsuit claims JPMorgan Chase facilitated convicted felon Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of women and girls, alleging that the bank should have known about Epstein’s illegal activity and as part of its anti-money laundering procedures, should have reported their client to authorities.
George accused the bank of turning a blind eye to the sex trafficking operations that went on on Epstein’s private island in the USVI, Little St. James.

What is
Make America Great Again and America First?

All the left has is Build Back Better. Which hasn't built shit and is worse than before. Also its a term made up by some think tank at the WEF.
Those ideas aren't pushed by the GOP though. Only their backwards voting base and orangemanbad.
