I'm fine with this. My debt is disappearing to inflation faster than it's getting interest already. That is the popular economic policy. They forget to tell you that if everyone has a $100,000 bill then a Tesla costs about $5 billion.
The more I ruminate on this the more insidious Chuck Todd's words feel. This guy is telling NBC's listeners a story about how the entire general public is just completely uninterested in voting and that this is dangerous because they're not voting for "quality candidates".fR0F7Qktan0kbvdE.mp4
A fresh new batch of cope has arrived from Meet the Press.
"We have some flashing red sirens to start the show with today - signs that America could be in the middle of abig political depression
."
Well, I'm sure you and your dinner friends at 430 South Capitol Street are going to be real depressed when fall comes. Also, I have a feeling that catchphrase is going to gain some traction in the near future.
"You've got an angry, disinterested electorate that's hostile to most folks with a title like Congressman"
True... but they're going to be much more disinterested if they're Democrats.
and it comes in many disguises too"You're misinterpreting your own opinion" is one of shitlibs' most patronizing and infuriating attitudes.
You mean Captain Planet lied to me!?Recycling is a grift that has a net negative effect. Penn and Teller did an episode on it a long time ago.
Broke my heart, too.
Even as a kid, I didn't like Captain Planet. At the time, I was thinking, "So when they use the rings and summon Captain Planet, they can't do anything. Why don't the villains go for the kids then?" In Power Rangers/Voltron, the Megazord made sense because they're in the giant robot. All it takes is one cheap shot at one of the kids to divert Captain Planet from them. You mean Captain Planet lied to me!?

Rick and Morty did a good riff on captain planet.Even as a kid, I didn't like Captain Planet. You're right I had it backwardsWasn't Daniel Ashe the one that tried banning lead bullets?
You're not alone in that sentiment, captain planet was so heavily preachy almost no kid liked it and only watched it when waiting for the next show which was usually something leagues better they didn't want to missEven as a kid, I didn't like Captain Planet. At least back then Captain Planet had the right idea about "Diversity". Instead of "Hey, blame whitey and its every one else fault but mine" it was "We are all different but have a common goal and shared experiences, lets work together!".You're not alone in that sentiment, captain planet was so heavily preachy almost no kid liked it and only watched it when waiting for the next show which was usually something leagues better they didn't want to miss
Well, until they started talking about population control. At least back then Captain Planet had the right idea about "Diversity". Instead of "Hey, blame whitey and its every one else fault but mine" it was "We are all different but have a common goal and shared experiences, lets work together!".
Imagine what if Chicago and Detroit turned red?
As someone that actually loved McConaughey in True Detective and Dazed and Confused, everything about him is just loving to hear the sound of his signature voice. I get having personal connections to a town that is currently still in grief due to a mass shooting, but this is the worst example of putting yourself on a pedestal to want to have “change” because you’re only known for being a world class actor.Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen the full video of his appearance, and the audio is missing in this instance, but…

There’s something *strange* about his body language. It’s almost as if he’s cheerfully excited, and the “how bout that?!” could’ve been followed with “pretty sweet, huh!?!” Looks like he’s dipping into some of his acting prowess, from what I have seen of his appearance, but it ain’t Oscar-worthy.

With regard to the theory that he’s doing this because he agreed to be the WH’s pet celeb to act somber and try and boost their credibility (like with BTS)…I don’t think so. If he didn’t have the personal ties to Uvalde that he does, and also didn’t have a record of supporting gun control (he also supported MFOL in 201, such a theory would be far more believable. He probably believes everything he said up there, and went to Washington himself with the desire to “help.” And of course the democrats were more than happy to let him get on a pedestal for their cause.
Not even in the wildest dreams of a methed up schizo is that happeningImagine what if Chicago and Detroit turned red?
Christ I'm old. Have no fucking idea who Captain Planet even is.You're not alone in that sentiment, captain planet was so heavily preachy almost no kid liked it and only watched it when waiting for the next show which was usually something leagues better they didn't want to miss
*snerk* OK.....that was kinda funny. But in true @JosephStalin fashion, I'll give y'all this because fuck, I laughed like a little schoolgirl.
