That is the popular economic policy. They forget to tell you that if everyone has a $100,000 bill then a Tesla costs about $5 billion.
I'm fine with this. My debt is disappearing to inflation faster than it's getting interest already.

A fresh new batch of cope has arrived from Meet the Press.

"We have some flashing red sirens to start the show with today - signs that America could be in the middle of a 🚨big political depression🚨."
Well, I'm sure you and your dinner friends at 430 South Capitol Street are going to be real depressed when fall comes. Also, I have a feeling that catchphrase is going to gain some traction in the near future.

"You've got an angry, disinterested electorate that's hostile to most folks with a title like Congressman"
True... but they're going to be much more disinterested if they're Democrats.
The more I ruminate on this the more insidious Chuck Todd's words feel. This guy is telling NBC's listeners a story about how the entire general public is just completely uninterested in voting and that this is dangerous because they're not voting for "quality candidates".

Now, it's obvious that he doesn't want to talk about how high Republican turnout numbers this year have been because it reinforces the inevitability of the red wave and NBC listeners don't want to hear about a red wave. But it's just so appallingly obvious that he's not telling the truth when Republican turnout in Georgia was up 98% compared to 2018 and Democrats also increased turnout by 30%.

"You're misinterpreting your own opinion" is one of shitlibs' most patronizing and infuriating attitudes.
and it comes in many disguises too
black, but don't tow the party line? REEE STUPID COON DOESNT KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR HIM
woman, but don't believe all wamminz? REEE INTERNALIZED SOGGY KNEES

The McConaughey (however the fuck you spell the fags name) commentary inspired me to find my favorite movie quote meme

You mean Captain Planet lied to me!?

Even as a kid, I didn't like Captain Planet. At the time, I was thinking, "So when they use the rings and summon Captain Planet, they can't do anything. Why don't the villains go for the kids then?" In Power Rangers/Voltron, the Megazord made sense because they're in the giant robot. All it takes is one cheap shot at one of the kids to divert Captain Planet from them.

Rick and Morty did a good riff on captain planet.

You're not alone in that sentiment, captain planet was so heavily preachy almost no kid liked it and only watched it when waiting for the next show which was usually something leagues better they didn't want to miss

At least back then Captain Planet had the right idea about "Diversity". Instead of "Hey, blame whitey and its every one else fault but mine" it was "We are all different but have a common goal and shared experiences, lets work together!".

Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS), who voted to create the Jan. 6 commission, is currently in 2nd place and heading for a runoff against Michael Cassidy with 8% of the vote in.

Another Republican Rep. from Mississippi, Steven Palazzo is also heading for a runoff. He's facing an ethics investigation for misusing campaign funds.

Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen the full video of his appearance, and the audio is missing in this instance, but…
FullSizeRender.MOV

There’s something *strange* about his body language. It’s almost as if he’s cheerfully excited, and the “how bout that?!” could’ve been followed with “pretty sweet, huh!?!” Looks like he’s dipping into some of his acting prowess, from what I have seen of his appearance, but it ain’t Oscar-worthy.

With regard to the theory that he’s doing this because he agreed to be the WH’s pet celeb to act somber and try and boost their credibility (like with BTS)…I don’t think so. If he didn’t have the personal ties to Uvalde that he does, and also didn’t have a record of supporting gun control (he also supported MFOL in 2018), such a theory would be far more believable. He probably believes everything he said up there, and went to Washington himself with the desire to “help.” And of course the democrats were more than happy to let him get on a pedestal for their cause.
As someone that actually loved McConaughey in True Detective and Dazed and Confused, everything about him is just loving to hear the sound of his signature voice. I get having personal connections to a town that is currently still in grief due to a mass shooting, but this is the worst example of putting yourself on a pedestal to want to have “change” because you’re only known for being a world class actor.

Him being up there is a photo-op of the highest degree, and it’s just mere proof that people only love Matt due to his voice, not because of his political opinions.

This is no more different than Joe Biden barely doing interviews with a fake media press, but instead doing late night show interviews with the likes of Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.

Much like Hollywood and MSM, these people (if you really can call them that) do not live like the rest of us Americans. They play too much into the fantasy lifestyle that even the good ones are not immune to this.

I would really like to see Shellenburger make it to the general election for California Governor. The recall election has definitively proven that California is fucked, but it'd be nice to see an independent candidate get more than like 2% of the vote in a big election.

Christ I'm old. Have no fucking idea who Captain Planet even is.

But in true @JosephStalin fashion, I'll give y'all this because fuck, I laughed like a little schoolgirl.

Anyone who watched it and didn't come out as a blonde hair, pink lipstick, Russian accent appreciator is gay.
