You complain about A&H being too autistic and spergy and then you nuke the thread containing us? Really?

Not to mention we had a nice little community going. Nothing good is going to come from pulling it out from under us with no warning. It's like walking up to your favorite bar or restaurant and there's a "out of business" sign on the door out of nowhere.

That's fine to shut down the thread if it's too big, That's what happened in the DSP board's megathread when it hit 10K pages. But they allowed us to immediately start a second megathread.

Here, it's "thread too big, post individual articles by themselves, kthxbai." Jannies wouldn't be facing anywhere near the blowback they are if they just said "thread too big, make another megathread, kthxbai"

Uh, guys.

They didn't mean "slow" as in "inactive."

They meant "slow" as in "loaded more slowly from the forum database."

Now, technically that is true, as a thread gets more posts in it the database takes a bit longer to retrieve the posts for a given page due to sorting and so on. However, I have trouble imagining there was an appreciable load time difference.

They don't try to load every post in a thread in one giant page do they? That would be extremely stupid.

Obvious bullshit reason is obvious, I know you are trying to give the benefit of the doubt but it's becoming glaringly obvious that there are certain mods here who would love to see A&N/Thunderdome turned into the equivalent of D&D at Something Awful.
