It's the latter. As to China, they can't hit US too hard without affecting themselves. We are China's first or second biggest trading partner so any retaliation will be pretty like for the average American.

Smart. China can tolerate the Uighurs to remove the sanctions, but they'll never do that. So they have to do something else the US wants, that is distance themselves from Russia, and take some pro forma action re: the Uighurs to give the US an excuse for removing the sanctions. Or maybe they will actually ease up on the Uighurs, which is still a positive outcome.

The most likely outcome is nothing at all will be done, because sanctioning a handful of minor officials is a fairly meaningless gesture in a game that's been going on for a while.

I haven't really looked into what sanctions the US did, was it really just minor officials? Lol, they're basically bots, China has got a million more of them that they can replace them with.

China will unlikely act against against Russia and cause long term damage to their relations with Russia.
And for what? to avoid some short term pain caused by some toothless sanctions? No way.

Once they bend the knee to whatever the US ask for the day is they know that they will have to continue bending the knee, every day, forever.
That is not what a proud and strong country with world-leader ambitions do.

China is proud and for the first time ever they are now ascending to become a world power. They are not going to throw those ambitions away and become Bidens bitch just because of some conflict between potato-farmers on the other side of the world.

Fuck Psaki, HILLARY got Covid!
Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

The former secretary of state and presidential candidate is vaccinated and appears to be taking it in stride.

"Well, I've tested positive for COVID. I've got some mild cold symptoms but am feeling fine," she wrote on Twitter.

I'd bet on the cause being closer to home. She's part of the team that keeps watch on other domestic elements. There's a lot of factions in US government that are often pursuing their own goals. Someone has to have the job of keeping them all from straying too far from the 6uild 6ack 6etter agenda.
