I think Trump would have gotten so much more respect if he would have just had a state of the union and said "Look, we want the straight of Hormuz. There's a ton of reasons financially and strategically and beneficial to America if we can either get Iran to play ball or install somebody who will." but you and I both know that even though that's what's good for this country in the long run, nobody's going to go for that.
So we have to OH MUH POOR KIKES! Which was fuck up number one.
Fuck up number two was Trump should have been smart enough to have seen how pussy Europe and the rest of the west is. I'm not sure if it was naivety or he overplayed his hand, but everyone else who could benefit from this wants to eat as much as we do but as usual, they aren't doing any of the fucking cooking.
The third mistake that he made which he always makes, is that arrogant fucking hubris of his. He had the hot hand fallacy of thinking that since things went so well in Venezuela that Iran was going to be a breeze. If only we had examples of thinking we were going to go into the middle east for a couple of weeks and it would be all done. Oh wait.
We're in it now though. We can't back down or we're going to look like bitches and lose the midterms. Or we're going to stay and the war will still be going on and we'll lose the midterms.
Either way I'm happy that 2026 is pretty much the last time Trump has the opportunity to monumentally fuck something up for this party.
