I kinda don't hate the kimono, inasmuch as it's better than an awful steampunk outfit involving wearing a corset on the outside.

You know what I dislike the most about this, though? The sneakers on the guys in the first picture. I absolutely do not know why, but Converse have become a hallmark of awful nerd weddings. The Joker and the Riddler both wear dress shoes!!

Also, on the kimono photo. Gentlemen, if you have long hair, a low center parted ponytail is not a formal hairstyle. Seriously, you can't even braid it?

StarWars nerds ecs dee are some of the biggest assholes I've met on the internet.
God forbid that you genuinely don't like it because its not your cup of tea.

What really annoys me about 'fake nerds' is not their shallow interest in Star Wars or whatever, but their shallow interest in intellectual pursuits, which to me is a hallmark of actual nerds. I know a nerdy girl. She just got into Harvard. She's super excited about a particular Homeric Greek professor. She's competed in the Latin version of Quiz Bowl at the national level. She's independently studying Greek 2. She's gotten basically every award you can get at the state Latin Club convention. That to me is what a nerd girl is, and yes, everyone else finds her kinda annoying and she has no fashion sense.

Sounds like a dumb thot. Smash her, dude.

The Nerd Girl problem of "being a nerd, but being mistaken for having an interest in literature" confuses the fuck out of me.
Weren't nerds the genesis of bookworms? I mean sci-fi and fantasy books were the nerd media of choice back in the day.

Why be a nerd and neuter the word of its' original connotations, despite it being okay or even trendy to be one now? Not "cool" enough?

Edit: words

It's a pile of cool things that suck more than the sum of their parts

Aaand dox'd. Come on dude be more careful!

When I get married I'm going to have my wedding photos be the bride shoving a large black panther toy into my dickhole

I think the only thing I can take comfort in is that such clearly juvenile people will almost assuredly get divorced once the marriage gets stressful and “isn’t fun anymore”. That’s the only thing I can take as solace anymore.

Oh, and to any younger Kiwis out there. Yes,
Marriage does stop being fun. It actually happens quicker than you might think and becomes more about cohabitating peacefully and comfortably. Believe it or not, this is, in fact normal. Romance and passion are like a Phoenix- they both live brightly and die quickly. But, it can also resurrect itself

My question is, what traitor had to go and introduce these kids to D&D? They're glomping all over it now because of some podcast or other and It's making me :heart-empty:

I can't tell who's safe to sperg about tabletop with anymore, as soon as you mention anything aside from the latest D&D, they just glaze over.

Go play Rolemaster ya scrubs!

I hear about Pathfinder a lot, but I tend to glaze over when it comes to high fantasy in general.

DnD is probably also popular due to it's more approchable nature, in addition to the podcasts, right? IveI only heard names and brief descriptions of others and a few sounded terribly "clunky" in their set up and even at the base level.

Reminds me of this chick who named her 1st son Link from Zelda and her 2nd son Castiel from supernatural.

We need eugenics.

WotC dumbed it down a lot when they took over, so it's a lot more 'approachable', I agree. My problem is tabletop used to be the instant hallmark of the Untouchable Nerd, and now it's being glossed over like everything else.

DnD is only popular because its the biggest thing. Pathfinder is same woke crowd cattering mess with shit mechanics. Better look into more obscure systems instead of bothering with overrated ones.
