Am i the only one who find people who are over 15 and use those game/comic/tv show tshirts and collect toys and game related shit as immature and insufferable?.

Sadly they are a dime a dozen in my college, seems the fashion of now is to wear the ugliest most childish clothing and have unkempt hair and beards.
It all depends really.
If they collect action figures/plushes and keep them in their room or just wear a minimalist shirt with the media's logo or something? That's alright, do you man. But if you're walking outside with like, 4+ keychain plushies and showing off your shirt that only "us nerds" would get and shoving your tattoos in everybody's face and sneaking in a character's catchphrase from the show every 6 sentences?
Basically, if they do everything in their power to make a massive point of them doing whatever they do, then they become insufferable.

To this day, I kinda miss the 80s depiction of what a nerd was. Here's a doodle I just did if such a stereotype!

there's a gradient. wearing a batman shirt and wearing like, clthulu in a tardis riding longcat are 2 different birds
There is the tshirt/print vendor (probably a few actually) I see at cons whose entire shtick seems to be 2 or more fandoms combined together. Want ponies on the Enterprise bridge? Sailor Moon characters in Hyrule? They have it all! I think they make a ton of money by just writing out lists of every popular fandom, and making art that features every possible combination of at least two of them.

yeah as a real nerd unlike these fake nerds, i agree lol EX DEEE

have u ever played this shit on ultra/???

Man this thread is literally a dumping for all the cringe I've seen and bitched about for the last 15 years. This video sums up just about everything I hate with "nerd" culture. It's so cringe worthy right down to The Big Bang reference, auto-tuning and Potter Fag pandering. All of these guys sound like they are huge faggots with lisps that could kill. I imagine each one having their hands on their hips in such a bitchy fashion every time they open their mouths.

I actually used to love these guys in high school. You can tell it's dated because everyone's actually giving the Hufflepuff and Slytherin shit instead of slapping "HUFFLEPUFF PRIDE UWU" and 'NOT ALL SLYTHERINS ARE RICH AND EVIL" everywhere.

I think the worst part of the new nerd culture is seeing people from high school post about how much they love nerdy stuff on social media when you know they don't. For instance, around this time of year, I get irrationally angry seeing people that used to make fun of me for liking spooky weird shit posting on Facebook about "omg i love halloween!!! Nightmare Before Christmas is my FAVORITE movie and ALWAYS has been! Tim Burton is like the besssssst". The same thing's happened with Harry Potter and Star Wars, too.

I think part of the outrage against ~fake nerds~ is that it feels like that thing you really liked that no one else did is cheapened once it gets popular, and now you're not special for liking a thing. Which is kind of stupid, obviously, but that's human nature, I guess. We like our autism to be UNIQUE, goddammit.

It's like hipsters get mad about how they liked some band before it was cool, but instead, it's the fucking hipsters invading. Everyone hates hipsters.

lol these people are making more money on the stuff you guys were into F1RST111!!one
im sorry that is so horrible.

oh noes and they're getting laid too
the tragedy

such cows.

I've got one of these on my bookshelves. I am not ashamed as the average boy or girl calling themselves nerds or geeks these days probably wouldn't even recognise it.

Also, at the risk of sounding a sexist pig, is it just me or are geek grrrls generally a lot more strident about being so than the boys? I'm sure that there are very sound sociological explanations for this but to me it just feels like geek grrrl is the new lipstick lesbian or girl-who-can-down-a-pint-of-beer-in-five-secomds. A quick, easy way for passably attractive but generally unremarkable women to try to make themselves seem more exciting and interesting.

Hammer, which no one recognized. Oglooger went as a personification of Nazi Germany. Or Italy, one of the two, and won third place because people thought it was Hetalia.
:powerlevel::autism:It was as a general of the Mexican Empire if Maximiliano of Hadburg wasn't executed:autism::powerlevel:

Anyways the reason we stayed at this club was originally morbid curiosity, but after that, I forget. I think it was to find people that had similar interests.

Olhelm forgot to add that there was an anime club, but it sucked because it was full of fujoshits, didn't like giant robots and extremely superficial tastes in anime, so it was understandably forgotten.
During that costume contest, when Wolfen played Rockband, they eventually has us sing songs like Bohemian Rhapsody and Still Alive.
Needless to say, no one there played portal, let alone half life and I'm sick of singing Bohemian Rhapdsody.
Trying to remember, but everything else was a blur until Senior year, but that's anotger story

that fear and loathing one is dope as fuck though

i wouldn't wear it but i'd buy the poster

It's the ultimate escalation to what was a 'culture' for people desperate to find someone else to connect with. It's always been based on consuming, buying an identity and collecting useless junk. None of the products nerds obsess with have any artistic value. It doesn't matter if you liked doctor who before or after it was cool, doctor who has always been cheap trash. If you spend money on things that will remain packaged in exposition you should rethink your life. Buy a superman toy, open it and give it to your kid you fucking loser
