Voting in the US midterm elections is now underway.

UpdatedUpdated 27 September

In this article...
Americans have started to cast their ballots in a vote that could shape the rest of Donald Trump's presidency.

Although the US midterm elections are technically held on 6 November, early voting has already started in a handful of states.

Minnesota was the first state to allow early in-person voting on 21 September, with a handful of key states following, including New Jersey, California and Arizona.

Thirty-five states and the District of Columbia offer some form of early voting, meaning every day until 6 November counts for Democrats and Republicans.

It's been an inauspicious beginning to the voting season for Mr Trump and his Republican Party, which continue to struggle under the weight of near-constant self-imposed crises and chaos.

80 per cent chance of winning back the chamber.

The Senate though is likely to be retained by the Republicans.

According to CNN, the Democrats are defending some two dozen seats, including 10 in states where Mr Trump secured victory in 2016, and five of those where he won resoundingly.

FiveThirtyEight gives the Democrats just a 30 per cent chance of taking the Senate.

The Democrats could also use their numbers to set up House select committees targeting the president.

"They will have an opportunity to set up special panels and committees to essentially smear President Trump," United States Studies Centre research fellow Dougal Robinson told SBS News in April.

Mr Robinson pointed to the Benghazi committee set up by the Republicans against Hillary Clinton in 2014 to further investigate the fatal 2012 terrorist attack on two US government facilities in Libya.

Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Once seen as cruising to an easy vote - fulfilling Mr Trump's key promise to stack the Supreme Court with conservative justices - a string of sexual assault allegations has turned the Kavanaugh decision into all-out political war.

According to CNN's national political reporter Eric Bradner, the scandal and lukewarm response from some Republicans to Mr Kavanaugh's accusers could "drive suburban women away in midterms".

I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 21, 2018
Analysts also point to Robert Mueller's investigation as an ongoing potential source of political curveballs.

Mr Mueller has already indicted more than 30 people in connection with his probe into whether members of Mr Trump's campaign colluded with Russia to help get the real estate tycoon elected.

And speculation has swirled in recent days that Mr Trump may fire embattled deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein - who oversees the Russia collusion probe.

Doubts over how long Mr Rosenstein can keep the job have swirled since shock media reports that he once suggested secretly recording Mr Trump to collect evidence for ousting him under a constitutional amendment for presidents unfit to remain in office.

Mr Rosenstein's firing - and Mr Trump possibly putting someone more pliable in his place - would set off alarm bells over the future independence of a probe, which has the potential to rock both the midterms and the entire Trump presidency.

US wants ‘partnership, not domination’ in Australia and region[/paste:font]

A report co-authored by Mr Robinson predicted after the midterms, Congress would be highly unlikely to support a US re-entry to the Trans-Pacific Partnership - a trade deal between 11 Pacific nations including Australia and New Zealand which Mr Trump pulled the US out of last year.

Another issue that may affect Australia is that if the Democrats retake the House, it is likely to lead to lower defence spending.

How will Trump keep his voter base energized? "More Winning."

TRUMP HAS A TWO WORD RESPONSE WHEN REPORTER ASKS HIM HOW HE WILL KEEP GOP BASE ENERGIZED
5:52 PM 10/10/2018
Benny Johnson | Reporter At Large

President Donald Trump made portions of the White House press corps chuckle with his response on how he intends to keep Republican voters fired up after the ultimately successful confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“How do you keep your base energized now that you have this Kavanaugh victory?” one reporter asked. Tuesday was the first day that Kavanaugh sat on the court after a contentious battle over his nomination.

“More winning,” Trump said.

Trump was leaving the White House on his way to a campaign rally Tuesday night when he took questions from reporters in the White House driveway.

The president was also asked about the mobs of paid progressive protesters that took over Capitol Hill during the contentious debate over Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Trump was specifically asked about the intense “energy” of the protesters.

“A lot of those were paid protesters. You saw that they are all unhappy because they haven’t been paid yet,” Trump alleged about the protesters. (RELATED: Trump Has A Theory Why The Anti-Kavanaugh Protesters Are So Mad)

Trump brought up his new trade deal with Canada and Mexico as a major policy win. “Our deal with Mexico and Canada was fantastic,” Trump said. “China wants to make a deal so badly. We will see where it goes. But I don’t think they are ready.”

MATT DRUDGE WARNS OF MIDTERM BLOODBATH: TRUMP TO LOSE ’60 SEATS IN THE HOUSE LIKE OBAMA DID’
2:41 PM 09/14/2018
Peter Hasson | Reporter

Conservative news giant Matt Drudge on Friday made a somber prediction about Republicans’ chances in the November midterm elections, predicting President Donald Trump will see his party lose 60 seats in the House of Representatives.

Drudge, who runs the influential Drudge Report, compared the upcoming midterms to the electoral bloodbath Democrats suffered in the 2010 midterm elections under former President Barack Obama.

“Trump and Obama both have 47% approval at this time of presidency, according to Rasmussen. Trump will also lose 60 seats in the House like Obama did during first midterm!” Drudge wrote on Twitter. (RELATED: Democrats Should Immediately Abolish ICE After Retaking Congress)

He added cryptically: “Unless…”

Democrats have to gain 23 House seats in November in order to flip the lower chamber. Democrats have an 83 percent chance of retaking the House, according to FiveThirty Eight.

Mark Taylor (The Trump Prophecies): Most Important Midterm Elections In All Of US History
July 30, 2018 29 3159

Mark Taylor says the upcoming 2018 elections are the most important mid-term elections in all of America’s history. Here’s why…

Mark Taylor interviewed by Greg Hunter on USA Watchdog

Mark Taylor, author of the popular book “The Trump Prophecies,” contends, “If you are part of the army of God, you need to be ready also because there are going to be politicians that are going to resign. We have had the biggest number of resignations probably in history. This midterm election is going to be huge. This is going to be a red tsunami. They keep talking about the blue wave. I think it’s going to be a blue drip, a leaky faucet, and that is all they are going to get. You have had more resignations than we have ever seen. Now is the time to go in and capture this ground and hold it for the Kingdom of God. . . . It’s not a left or right thing. God is moving us towards a place of righteousness. That’s what’s happening right now. So, he’s going to be replacing these people. If you are called to be a judge, senator, congressman or a council person, I don’t care what level local, state or federal, take your place and get ready. If you are in the Army of God and you don’t vote, you need to get off your behind and register to vote. These are going to be the most important midterm elections in America’s history—period.”

In closing, Taylor says, “I don’t think there is going to be another Democrat in the White House for a long time, if ever again. I believe you are seeing the death of the Democrat party right now.”

Join Greg Hunter as he goes One-on-One with Mark Taylor, co-author of “The Trump Prophecies,” which has been made into a movie that is releasing in early October.

"What if women were objectified to the point where their entire argument could only be summarized as, "You no get snoo-snoo."

I'd laugh and say it's hilarious that whoever wrote this assumed that every woman alive was anti-Trump and determined to blackmail people with their vaginas. Next question.
I know this is late as fuck but I actually read through this article and I feel the need to express how terrible it really is.

The article spends about six sentences on the premise that’s in the headline, just saying that female sexual pleasure is political and that women shouldn’t be having “service sex” to satisfy the patriarchy or some shit. The rest of the article then veers off into batshit crazy female-supremacist territory and tries to make the case that all sex should be entirely focused on female pleasure and what a perfect world that would create. There’s also some notes thrown in about how traditional family structures are oppressive and misogynist because women are more likely to lose interest in their partner sexually as time goes on and relationships become more solidified than men are, so in addition to everything else the author is also advocating for open relationships/cucking.

Last week I drove a ~200 mile stretch of I-30 between DFW Metroplex and Austin, and all of the 20 or so highway billboard election ads I saw in the rural counties along the way were for Ted Cruz. Not a single one explicitly for Democrats, just a few generic "Go Vote on Election Day" billboards. And in suburban/urban areas like DFW Metroplex and Austin, those small campaign signs at street intersections are about equal in the proportion of Ted vs O'Rourke. Lawn signs in suburban areas depends on the neighborhood, in some lower income areas the O'Rourke signs outnumber Ted's, in the high income areas where wealthy liberals are predominantly located, it's still about 50/50.
As someone who is in Austin, believe me there are quite a bit of conservative people who live here as well. We just tend not to be so loud.

The other thing people don't seem to understand about Texas is that most of its population isn't in the cities, it's in the vast rural area that goes Republican. If you want to win as a Democrat here in Texas in a statewide election, you need to be pro-gun and against open borders. Beto fails on both sides of it. He will get Cali transplant votes and liberals who aren't affected by his idiotic policies. People who like owning guns and having lower taxes will not be pulling the lever for him.

I will be shocked if he wins. I mean it would be an even bigger upset than Trump beating Hillary.

Though conservatives won't take to the streets and cry a fit about it. Nor will they need therapy animals, play doh, and coloring books to cope with the face our side lost this round.

Damn it....why does an article like that exist in No-Nut November? Who doesn't want to live in a gynarchy as a slave to dangerhairs? Welp...time to fap!

Didn't know where else to write this -

But I just went on a conservative Youtuber livestream and found out that chat won't allow you to post The American flag emoji. Is anyone else having this problem? Others in that same chat couldn't do it either

Yeah. It happens on all the different rallies, as well. YouTube is actively filtering it out. Fucked up, isn't it?

Twitter is suspending conservative accounts recently too (not 'conservative' like Alex Jones types) for retweeting something a leftist account posted or in one case joking that Democrats day to go to the polls is November 7th.

It doesn't surprise me too much considering that this study was making the rounds through Twitter the other day at a breakneck speed. It's from 2011, so it's not exactly brand-spanking new, but the sheer amount of attention the study was getting from "the wrong people" leaves me unsurprised that the occasional code monkey here and there would start trying to rip flags out of anything they could find.

It's only 28 pages long, so if you have a spare couple of minutes I'd give it a leafing-through. It's actually pretty interesting.

Stuff like that only makes me want to push back against it, and it's doubtful I'm alone in that sentiment.

Edit: Like this, for example.

thats what they get for trying to hack the election

Just stay home and de-stress on election day by consuming your favorite multimedia product and comfort food. No need to expose yourself to any external sources of stress that might trigger a breakdown. Everything will turn out ok, don't worry and don't think about it!

Is it a public vs private thing?
I'm not sure. In my final year of high school, it seemed like there was an option to register for the draft in conjunction with submitting one's initial college financial aid application. I received a form letter back saying I couldn't register as early as I did, but my application would be held until I could be registered and processed then. Now, it's probably far more easier and convenient to register thanks to the internet; and, it looks like registrations can now be accepted from males as young as 17 years, 3 months.

What is it that Dems have against anonymity?

Funny thing is, the Democrats here have endorsed a state constitutional amendment that - among other things - supposedly guarantees a secret ballot.

Hence why I said that the DHS has been bracing down to deal with this for a year, now. The media was so busy celebrating the fact that they got Trump's PACEI taken off the table that they didn't even care to notice that it became fused into the framework for the Document and Benefit Fraud Task Force (DBFTF), rather than just being disbanded entirely, like the media had assumed.

eceb7f9e4dc094adc12dd23ec99e0084.png

See? They're not fucking around this time.
Actually, I kinda' want to prattle on this a bit more.

The reason that the PACEI and then it's movement into the DBFTF was such a big deal at the time is because it was the first time that election fraud was being handled at a federal level, where historically election fraud had always been treated as a local issue. Trump started a "voter fraud" panel, everybody screamed about it, and then he disbanded it. Almost immediately afterwards, everyone stopped paying it any attention at all, and that's exactly what I was hoping would happen.

Voting fraud was handed off to the DHS, FBI, and all of these other federal agencies while no one was paying attention. Those same agencies have been cleaning up and hunting down all of the voting fraud that went on in the 2016 election, so now they know what was done, how it was done, and who was doing it. They were waiting this time, and snared the Democratic Party of Georgia the second it happened.

Remember the media sucking its own dick over how the PACEI didn't really find any fraud? There's plenty of different kinds of voting fraud, and ways to facilitate mass voting fraud, such as making use of the massive swathe of "ghost voters", or tampering with the state's voter registration systems. Gotta' close race coming up in the elections? Not to worry, a couple thousand newly-registered Democrats can appear out of thin air from the Ghost list, and then you can file all these people through the doors to vote as proxies for a dead man.

There's several places in the country where the number of registered voters now exceeds the voting age population of those areas. Everyone knew it was being done, but voter fraud was a local state matter, so the locals would pile in (If they even fucking bothered), find nothing, and everyone shrugged and just went back to what they were doing. That's not happening this time. Election integrity is being treated as a matter of national security, so it's being handled at the federal level now, not the local level.

That "ghost voter" crap isn't going to cut it, anymore.

So, one day to election. Remarkably little has changed as far as predicting the outcome goes. Polls, enthusiasm and conventional wisdom are still heavily on the side of Democrats.
There would need to be a much larger, and much more systematic (all over the nation) polling error for Republicans than in 2016 to keep the House. Furthermore, considering Republicans have the most favorable Senate map of all time for any party in any election, the fact that they're looking to keep at about the number they have now is truly a terrible performance.

Willing to be proven wrong, and we'll all know very soon, but nothing has really changed, and I've been predicting this for more than a year..

Nate Silver predicted the Democrats will take the house, the universe will somehow conspire to prove him wrong again.

Polls, enthusiasm and conventional wisdom are still heavily on the side of Democrats.
The polls heavily over-sample Democrats to the point where some of them are labeling bonus democrats as Independents to boost the numbers higher, enthusiasm is so low that even the Extra Special President Barack Obama can barely fill a tool shed for his rallies, and what fucking conventional wisdom? Do you honestly believe that after this two-year-long shit-fit that the Democratic party has been throwing, no amount of the general public has taken a look at it and gone, "You know what, Red doesn't sound so bad this year."

That's one seriously defeatist attitude you've got there, buddy.
