US Army calls Russia ‘the enemy’

The US Army has branded Moscow the “enemy” while promoting a newly-published manual on the Russian military on social media.

The Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate’s (CADD) new 280-page manual gives a detailed overview of Russian military strategy and tactics, and tries to predict how the country would conduct itself in future conflicts. The CADD promoted the manual in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, asking, “Do you know your enemy?”

The primary focus is on Moscow’s ground forces, which would be pitted against the US Army in a hypothetical direct war.

The document, known as ATP 7-100.1 and released last week, is part of a series that the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) has been developing for years. Previous publications provided similar studies of the militaries of other potential near-peer and peer opponents: North Korea, China, and Iran. The materials are not classified and intended for professional US and allied military officers.

With Russia currently involved in the Ukraine conflict, US military researchers stressed that they are still examining data gathered there and would revise their instructions accordingly. They said it was “too early to assess the structure and equipping of any Russian unit for the next 5 to 10 years” with hostilities still ongoing.

Discussing Russia’s relations with the US and its NATO allies, the manual says they are defined “by a perpetual state of competition and self interest.” The country seeks recognition as a world power and it is “highly likely” that future Russian leaders will pursue policies similar to that of the current government “for the foreseeable future,” it said; Russia will “challenge the relative position of US influence in the global order while avoiding direct confrontation with the US military.”

The Russian leadership views NATO as an instrument of American geopolitical hegemony and has called its expansion in Europe a threat to national security. The Ukraine conflict, according to Moscow, is part of a wider US-led proxy war against Russia, in which Ukrainian troops are sacrificed in the name of containment.

”The core of the problem is not in Ukraine but in those who are trying to destroy Russia with Ukrainian hands,” President Vladimir Putin said last month while visiting a military hospital. “Even though they have been pursuing this goal of tackling Russia for ages, we will sooner tackle them.”

Well, duh.

Say what you want about Putin, Prince Z or Biden. We're still in a new Cold War with them.

The supposed basedness of Russia and China ends at their borders. If they find it advantageous to promote degeneracy in the West, they will.

As a US citizen, I am more worried about the US government and its military than I am about nation states that cannot project their government and military power more than 100 miles beyond their borders.

As opposed to the west who promote degeneracy everywhere, regardless of advantage?

We’re hijacked by the globohomo cabal. Russia and China are still not magically made into virtuous countries by that.

It’s ok to hope that globohomo exhausts itself with all the fights it picks, but only a retard wants to live in China especially, but also Russia to an extent.

Russia would be worse and more like China if power got more centralized and the oligarchic situation wasn’t there as a minimum form of decentralization

I didn't say they were. I'm saying that meat's post made it seem like we were any better.
Those two things are not mutually exclusive. TikTok, for example, is a Chinese weapon designed to make Western young people retarded.
Point in your favor, but that's one item vs God knows how many based in California alone.

Based on the title alone, I think the Army is more worried about Russia's ability to project psychological operations over social media into the USA. Something they are manifestly capable of, based solely on how zigger brained some Amerimutts have become even on this forum.

The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend.

New party line is that Putin will invade Western Europe next, somehow. Russia will somehow invade and be in Berlin in two weeks despite not even being able to reliably obtain air superiority against Ukraine, a country that barely has an airforce.
No, the party line is if Putin wins in Ukraine, Russia will be in a stronger position when the inevitable war that follows starts. The idea in policy circles is the Ukraine War is a form of active deterrent. If Russia is stopped, there will be no "next war". China will also be deterred from any shenanigans as well, after seeing their biggest ally get bodied.

No one larger to blame for that than the US government for losing the trust of its own people.

The incompetency and faggotry of our government has done more damage than any level of "muh Russian propaganda".

Fucking Afghanistan withdrawal, forever ugh. The single most incompetent action in modern American military history

Nothing new.

The Army has been looking to all these nations as guidelines for OPFOR when wargaming scenarios to determine capability gaps for decades at this point. Hardly shocking that they release manuals dictating strategies and doctrines in order to inform on how they might behave.

They said it was “too early to assess the structure and equipping of any Russian unit for the next 5 to 10 years” with hostilities still ongoing.
These assessments have always been highly optimistic anyway wrt the capabilities OPFOR might develop. IIRC high energy lasers have consistently been implied as a capability going to be fielded by Russia/China en masse in the next 5 years for the last 20 years according to these assessments.

The truth is a lion, set it free and it will defend itself.
I mean yes, they pretty much fit the bill with their actions over the last decade and the threat they pose.
Look how closely they put their country to our military bases and CIA black sites.
