Dems would rather pay $20 a gallon gas, spend hundreds of dollars for groceries, be completely locked out of the housing market, and risk possible black outs thanks to green energy that doesn't even fucking work than possibly consider NOT having wild unprotected sex.
If RvW hadn't been nuked, I can see the GOP having a much easier time winning, but the risk of "no more abortions!!" completely blew their chances out of the water.

Honestly, balkanization is probably more likely, except 1. People aren’t willing to do more than CHAZ, and 2. The country as a system has made lots of moves since Bull Run to keep that scenario you speak of from happening.
