The “Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018,” legislation introduced in the House, carries a potential 15-year prison sentence for those caught engaging in behaviors typically associated with the “antifa” movement of anti-fascist activists.

Under the act, anyone “wearing a mask” or in disguise who “injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person … in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege” would be subject to a fine or up to 15 years in prison.




The bill was introduced in the House last month but received renewed attention on Tuesday after alt-right personality Mike Cernovich encouraged his followers to call their representatives and "let them know what you think" about the legislation.

Antifa activists, who often wear masks, have gained nationwide attention for engaging in violent clashes. Many activists in the movement have also disrupted actions planned by white supremacist groups.

The bill was introduced by Republican Rep. Dan Donovan (N.Y.) and is co-sponsored by GOP Reps. Pete King (N.Y.), Paul Gosar (Ariz.) and Ted Budd(N.C.).

The bill is currently in the House Judiciary Committee.

Hell, it's about time. It's about fucking time that those mask wearing faggots get spanked by the long arm of the law. As for the tard rage that'll inevitably ensue, it's going to be epic for sure, especially when those limpwristed pansies take to the streets and get introduced to Mr. Nightstick.

Better late than never, even though it hasn’t been passed yet. I’m tired of these fucks and their self-righteous public temper tantrums. Can we also add a fine for abusing the word fascist?
 
Several towns and cities adopted similar laws in order to crack down on the KKK decades ago. I wonder how these ANTIFAgs feel knowing that this is how society sees them.
 
What if, instead of outlawing these vigilantes, we simply regulated them? That way they could still be called upon when needed, but also be bound by rules to ensure they aren’t corrupted by their incredible gifts.
 
I'm sure this won't affect our brave Nazi punching heroes. After all, they're our last line of defense against Donaldolf Drumpfler putting all minorities, women, and gays into concentration camps. Surely their brave protests will continue even if the law makes rioting in LARP gear illegal.

As much as I feel a massive sense of schaudenfruede whenever something goes wrong for antifa, I agree with this, since what if later on down the line, people are protesting for far more nobler causes than anything that either the KKK or antifa has ever stood for? And besides, even with this law in place, half the cities that antifa operates in tell their police force to stand down to begin with.

What could be a much better alternative is get rid of this Duty to Retreat shit and instead just encourage Castle Doctrine across the whole country. Antifa never operates in areas where this is the case like in some small town in the South or the Mid-West, they only ever operate in urban areas in blue states where the populace is massively disarmed in the first place so they can do what they do and act the way they act without fear of consequence until the riot cops arrive (to sit there and do buttfuck nothing). What can really counter them there is that anyone that fights back against them won't have to face any consequence whatsoever. Let the average citizen unmask these lunatics, not the government

Besides, it's not like the weakest of Average Joes can't punch ten times harder than the strongest antifag anyway

What could you be protesting where wearing a mask as you destroy shit wouldn’t make you the bad person in the eyes of many? For fucks sake, if you feel things have gotten to that point just declare Civil war already, quit pussyfooting around.

Otherwise, historically, civil protesters were arrested while showing their faces. Women were killed during suffragette times because they went on hunger strikes, and were forcibly fed with tubes which occasionally went into a lung rather than down the throat. Be willing to stand, and sacrifice for your fucking convictions dammit.
 
In the last 2 years we've seen exactly why the 2nd Amendment exists.

The greatest threat to your rights may or may not be the government, but the greatest threat to your immediate SAFETY is clearly citizen mob rule where the government looks the other way out of weak willed indifference at best and silent approval at worst.

Notice how those mobs melted away when they sent in cops to actually maintain order.

The thing with antifa is that they're not necessarily protestors like the suffragettes by any stretch, they're instigators, that's what the anarchist part of them is all about. They don't wreck property and punch people because it's for any particular cause they have any deep commitment to, they do it for that base dopamine hit and online bragging rights.
 
They're just gonna switch to the top part of burqa because it's protected by the first amendment. You really can't force someone to expose their face outdoors. I don't think it is an extra bad thing to wear a mask when you do something illegal, the laws in place for the assaults should be adequate.
