I was doing "perfect" saves (both normal and rape route) by following YT guides. After reaching chapter 4, I had to postpone it due not having time to do it. I think when Ch 5 trailer will come I'll go back at it.

I’m all caught up on the weird route, and I’m about halfway through Chapter 4 on the normal route replay since I missed the C3 egg (fuck you Toby) and C4 secret boss the first time around. I’m also going to start over from C2 to do an aborted weird route so I can keep the Thorn Ring. My money’s on that being the “canon” route.

Deltarune is definitely like Earthbound in the sense that I always learn something new with each playthrough, like how after the cutscene where Kris plays the long piano melody in C4 to open the door, you can replay it manually and Ralsei knows that “you” did it that time, not Kris.

lest you alert the troon horde and they rush you for DARING to criticize their lord and god Tobias Foxhound The Third!
Making any of the main characters a troon or related to a troon would turn this game to shit.
Having a tranny guest star play the piano in chapter 4 was retarded.
Making kris non-binary is idiotic for multiple reasons.
I like the fact that mettaton in undertale is a fucking trans-human becuase he's also the most evil piece of shit in the underground, even worse than flowey. Considering his plans and actions, I wish you were allowed to kill him without breaking pacifist.
Considering the sheer disappointment that was King, I want the roaring knight to be Dess AND unredeemably evil, and also follow mettaton patten of wishing they were human or some other metaphor of being a tranny, so that I will feel nothing but joy in slaughtering her.

I'm assuming she's in an amalgamate or Flowey-type situation, but the knight's design and demeanor is way too cool to go for the "noo, Dess islost and you have to save her too!" route just like Asriel again, otherwise every roaring fraud meme will be correct.
King was the coolest villain because there was nothing misunderstood about him, he was straight up evil and had to be actually defeated, and is still the only one (except for sans but fuck sans I hope the knight decapitate him in chapter 5) in UTDR smart enough to exploit being spared for a betrayal shot on the protagonists instead of the other way around, then he became Lancer's lame hamster dad who tootally wasn't going to drop the kid he was choking out and threatening. (I'm still holding out hope for a kino King comeback at somepoint)

That reminds me, I took Tenna to Castle Town in the game because that's clearly what you're supposed to do with all the darkeners, but I was shocked when I later looked online to see the fandom agree that sending him to the troon ghost who abandoned his cousin was the better option.

I mean, Tenna says he wants you to find someone who likes TV to take him.

I took Tenna to Castle Town, went through all the dialogue with him, then took him to Mettaton. Also Mettaton and Napstablook live together in DR…

Speaking of which, I like how at least some of the side things you can do aren’t presented as the “right” choices. If you don’t give Tenna to Mettaton, then you’ll get more Mike shenanigans in Chapter 5 like Toby showed. If you missed Onion-San in Chapter 2, then even though you don’t get him in Chapter 4, you get the Krusie skipping-rocks scene instead.

Ngl it was kind funny seeing ppl in the fandom who had this opinion reaction after the most recent newsletter video;

How does time even work in the dark world?
I think the darkners are emplied to have a lot of history before the lightners showed up, and somehow they can still interact in the light world if their objects are on the same room, and those memories carry over to when a dark world is created? Is time just distorted in the DW?

Incoming Theory™(Basically just how things work without it being said outright) but in regards to their history it's a form retroactive determinism as a result of the dark fountains screwing with reality, just in a literal literary sense and not the logical fallacy sense.

Part of it is the fundamentally distorting effect of Dark Fountains, part of it is the inherent "history" these things have in the world. Can be anything like the Rudinns all the way to Tenna, or even Gerson on the more extreme end. That said it also is definitely reliant on who made the Dark World.
Using Tenna as an example because he illustrates the retroactive determinism and inherited history pretty well
➤ Tenna as an individual does not exist.
➤ Kris grows up. Uses the TV and things in the house.
➤ Fast Forward
➤ Dark World is made
「ᴘᴀꜱᴛ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴘᴏɪɴᴛ ʏᴏᴜ'ᴠᴇ ɴᴏᴡ ꜱᴛᴀʀᴛᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ꜰᴜᴄᴋ ᴛʜɪɴɢꜱ ᴜᴘ」
➤ Tenna as an individual exists.
➤ Tenna as an individual has always existed.
➤ The TV Dark World has always existed (History inherited from Kris's history with all of these things)
➤ Tenna was there to witness the troubled household Kris grew up in.
It's a somewhat trippy and kind of existential way to do things. It's inherently meant to be weird. If you want a solid example of inherited history and how the creator of a dark fountain shapes it, see Gerson in Susie's Dark World.

I think whatever the official story of Deltarune ends up being, it will be a flop compared to the much more interesting hypothetical plot points theorists are imagining.
Tfw when Friend is a metaphor for homophobia o algo and is defeated by the power of friendship

Didn't Noelle get the glitched egg from a Spamton link?

Nah, you're conflating the bag egg story with Spamton's pipis story. The special egg appeared in her game mysteriously during normal gameplay and she couldn't get rid of it until she treated it nice enough it left home due to happiness, whatever that means. While Spamton gifted her a pipis through a mod he made to show his appreciation for her always reading his emails.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Toby just made it so that the ending is so up for interpretation that all 'Alternative Universes' are canon.
It's 100% possible too that he ends up making the ending "Up to interpretation" and I could easily see it being set up similar to the Mother 3 ending which we all know Toby loves the series.

So Mother 3 ends with you awakening this "Dark Dragon" (Yes that's actually what it's called.) and the game leaves it ambiguous what actually happens after that. Whether the world is destroyed or saved or whatever the fuck is left purposefully vague to the player. I could 100% see Toby doing some bullshit like that with some retarded line like "(You) write the ending!"

Yeah honestly we've been spinning theories in our heads since 8 years. The ending probably won't live up to 90% of what I've imagined, but I hope it's good nonetheless.

Personally I hope that the darker/serious mood in chapter 4 continues on. Hoping that by the end of the game the Roaring continues to be a purely evil/cataclysmic event.

I don't want "John Roaring" or whatever the fuck to appear from the deepest darkest pit to explain to me the tragic story of "the Roarers" and how the lightners banished them to some pit a la Undertale.

Considering that King from chapter 1 is so irredeemably evil that they just kept him in a cage after the Fun Gang tried to spare him and then got backstabbed, I'd say he won't pull the "a la Undertale card" on us.

So if there's a precedent for a character like this, it's pretty likely we'll get more purely evil stuff to fight against.

Also, how Susie is communist if she and Lancer made a cookie stand and charged you 40$ per cookie?
