Kris is male, 100%. The nurse/ doctor dichotomy is on the same level of delusion as people unironically claiming that Noelle is trans because she has antlers. I hadn't heard of the buttons thing before, but I'm assuming you're referring to their sprites which have notoriously had inconsistent symmetry prior (i.e the 'Dess is totally the knight as she's left-handed trust me guys' argument, which was instantly disproven by the fact that the knight attacks with its sword in its right hand).
Yeah, the reason you never heard of the buttons thing before is because to my knowledge, I'm the only person to ever try and argue with it. And yes, I'm referring to the sprites, though I mainly did it to fuck with others since I really have no respect for discourse surrounding anything LGBT. It's obnoxious as hell.

The whole suselle thing is basically Noelle seeking a replacement for her lost sister as both Susie and Dess are depicted as a mean girl who's nice to those she cares about
i guess it makes a lot more sense when you think about it like that but something about it still seems strange to me

Is anyone else not fond of Noelle? I unironically like Berdly more than her. I also hate the Suselle shipfuel Toby is pushing. It's literally just Alphyne again, but worse and without any charm. I hope Toby does something more interesting with Noelle in the main route because imo she doesn't do much beyond simping
Noelle is a perfect parallel to Aeris in Final Fantasy VII. Sickeningly sweet and seemingly central to the plot. Maybe Sephiroth will stab her.

In the same way, Krusie is shown to be Kris filling the void left by Asriel during the diner scene, where they do exactly what the waitress describes Asriel and Kris doing years ago.

If Noelle gets stabbed by The Roaring Knight instead of getting with Susie I will take everything back.

This argument kind of falls apart though when you analyze it, because as others have pointed out Noelle's retarded idealized version of Susie is similar to how Dess was with her being a punk and everything which really does seemingly paint it as more like Noelle seeking a replacement for Dess rather than something genuine.

Asriel wasn't much like Susie from what we've seen so far, he was the popular golden boy while Susie was a fucking loser that nobody liked, not unlike Kris. The reason why the relationship works is because they actually have things in common, unlike Noelle and Susie where it just feels forced for the sake of dyke pandering. Basically Kris x Susie reads like an actual relationship where both parties genuinely have things in common and aspects to bond over unlike Noelle x Susie where like I said, it just feels like Noelle is unhealthily seeking something to fill the void left by her 411'd sister rather than genuine affection or a real bond.

Again, I want to trust the plan and hope this is Toby's actual intention but my heart knows better...

Kris also knew the "real Susie" long before she actually started opening up, and certainly before Noelle ever started learning who she was during the events of the game.

We even know that Kris didn't care about Susie bullying him, not because (unlike Noelle) he got off to the idea or liked how punkish and confident she was, but rather because he knew it was a bullshit facade. Kris knew that wasn't who Susie actually was, but he also never bothered to actually talk to her normally before the game started so their relationship never went anywhere.

Like Susie remarks, they could've become friends way sooner if they were both a little more honest with one another. They're very much kindred spirits and have immediate, natural chemistry. They just... work.

Noelle meanwhile fell in love with the mask first and only started learning that wasn't who Susie really was by talking to her instead of gooning from afar in the last couple days.

Shit, as far as Noelle is concerned the only time Susie has ever actually spoken to her for more than a sentence outside of a dream was when she came over to study. The relationship is so unbelievably forced the only genuinely natural endpoint I can see Toby doing that wouldn't feel retarded would be Susie rejecting her and Noelle becoming more confident on her own instead of using Not-Dess as a crutch.

If they end up together it would be insanely contrived. The characters have no background outside of MUH PENCIL and zero chemistry outside of "Noelle nervously salivating at Susie while she sits there confused". The only time they even talk to each other is when Toby literally rips Kris out of the scene and locks them in a room together.

Original inspiration for FRIEND might have been discovered.
Picsrel are from Wachifield, which is a Japanese multimedia franchise consisting of a fantasy world built around the cat mascot of a leatherworking company.

According to the grapevine, there's also a story in the setting that involves forest spirits kidnapping people on the night of a festival, which includes a character named Noel.
