come on, he was in on homestuck during its peak days and has been on the internet far too long to repeat any of the mistakes a hussie or a lowtax would make.

it's because they have fucking nothing better to do than bitch and moan about people being "wrong" about something they, and only they, care about. they need to be completely provably correct so that they have the right to push 57 citations as of this post in your face, even if those 57 citations are all a vague usage of gender neutral language. to argue about it is to say "fuck it, i have nothing better to do either" because neither party is going to have anything to convince the other they're wrong.

He did have a slip-up moment that time during the Anniverasry stream where he referred to one of those "they" ghosts as a guy, and fortunately for him, he was quick enough to correct and say it was a typo. He's also focusing on the Japanese part of his fanbase, so he knows it's a matter of time before "they" (heh) turn on him, since he's a white male and therefore guilty, and the woke crowd always eats their own.

I wonder how they'll feel once they discover that the japanese translation (which Toby oversees) doesn't use neutral pronouns for Kris.

Well Japanese doesn't really have an equivalent to singular they. There's technically gender neutral third-person pronouns, but they're either mildly rude or something mildly formal for when you don't know someone's name, and they're kind not like gender neutral pronouns in that they're taken more like calling someone "that guy" or "this person". I'm pretty sure almost every instance of Kris being called "they" was translated as being called by name (which sounds very normal in Japanese; people even commonly call the person they're talking to by name instead of saying a word for "you").

By the way, something kind of funny in the Japanese version is that instead of calling Toriel by her name, Susie always calls her Kris's Mama.

Today I had a dream about how Toby was stabbed in Japan by a usual suspect, and now he is in a very critical condition in the hospital. Twitter is on fire, fanbase posting oceans of fan art in support of hopes that he'll make out of it alive, while chuds are cutting in by doing racist deltarune memes (like an animation of fun gang beating niggers to death), and fanbase is responding accordingly.

I cannot tell you the magnitude of shock and horror Toby kicking the bucket would cause, especially if it's before Deltarune finishes. Even worse if what happened to Charlie Kirk hapeened to him (I think one time some crazy Undertale fan put a needle in a cookie to kill someone so it's not beyond the realm of possibility). Is it only a matter of time before the libtards turn on him? I doubt it.

Hot take, I think placing so much importance on Toby's word in regards to what someone is, is dumb. If someone can rationalize their headcanon, it's retarded to get uppity at someone only trying to engage with something they care about. Appeal to authority fallacy in a nutshell.

i'd certainly fucking hope that people aren't insane enough to go and senselessly murder someone for the crime of doing something the killer personally didn't like, but as the kirk murder has shown, anyone will kill anyone for whatever reason even if it's a retarded reason. maybe it's for the best toby lives in japan, unless some schizo decides to make kyoani look like a joke.
