I almost think people like this, Terry Davis being one example, should be put in some sheltered setting like a Xerox PARC for crazy people, given whatever fidget spinners and pizza de-greasing machines they need to deal with their obsessions, and just allowed to do whatever they want. Much of it would be useless but I bet you'd get some bizarre contraptions or programming ideas out of it that would more than make up for the expense, unlike most of the utterly useless fucking tards we support with taxpayer money.

Like this but for mad scientists and programmers?

He has a point. Pay people more for not working than working and guess what, they won't work.
That's true but there's other problems that come along with that. People won't be invested in their community. If all their finances come from the government people just stop giving a shit, which is why Detroit is a hellhole.

Work engages peoples, sitting at home doesn't.

I really wish Nick actually went and got a autism diagnosis so he could receive actual help and support over clowns like OPL and Sockness, Its not fair bros.

I'm not sure he has autism. That's not what he's been told anyway. I believe he claims severe OCD and a crippling collection of phobias.

He doesn't have to actually have autism, he just needs to be diagnosed with something.

I don't know what his issue with masks is but it's probably a inexplicable (to other people) sensory issue that's common among people like him.

I think he's taking the covid rules too literally to his detriment. It's sad that there isn't anyone there in his life to tell him to fuck the rules and just go outside, but he'd probably get hassled by some bitch karen on the street. Uli is based and I hope shit gets back to normal for him.

Oh, I was afraid this thread was shut down last night!!
Honestly, he seems utterly fascinating if undiagnosed and I'm willing to buy his book since his mind is so mathematically-inclined. It would be an honor if I'd ever receive his autograph.

Uli has been working on a new game, Baricanna. It looks like a pared down version of Platform Masters with RPG elements. He's been posting mockups of the various screens and going into his usual insane level detail on various game mechanics. He claims to want to finish it by Thanksgiving, but I don't see that happening. I hope he does though, I've been wanting to play PM for years now.

Reading up on Ulillillia after the cluster fuck that is everything happening with Chris chan was one of my better ideas.
Ulillillia seems like a cool guy and it's good to see someone with as many issues as him doing better steadily over time instead of caving to the pressure.
Seems like that takes a lot of willpower which I think a lot of other people just don't have. That's probably one of the things that makes him an interesting guy with more than his fair share of issues instead of a lolcow.

I think the big difference is that some like Uli and Terry etc. are not autistic. A big majority of lolcows seem to be autistic and autists are almost always self-centered assholes.

The path Uli went is amazing and he did it all by himself, too. Like with many lolcows, his family and immediate surroundings weren't much help either. I feel the pandemic will only be a temporary setback for him and he'll go at his own speed. I also hope he got less idealistic with age and will milk possible followers for all they're worth. He deserves it.
