I suspect they reckon that if they push her out the door while screeching about diversity and representation it allows them to claim diversity and paint the opposition as racist sexist death merchants. This is then undermined by the Abbopotamus being fucking exceptional.

I lived in Hackney a few years ago (dopey Diana is one of the percentages above).
A waggish friend said "If you stuck a red rosette on a pig it would get elected in Hackney, so why did we get lumbered with Abbott when there could be a far better candidate"

Yeah but have you noticed how intensively thick their top black MPs are? You have David "Mouthbreather" Lammy and Dianne "Chicken Bucket" Abbot. Like, these people should probably have a helper "friend" nearby to stop them from eating modelling glue.
Then people like Kwasi Kwarteng get no look in whatsoever.

So I began to peruse the news... and things North of the border are looking rather grim for Nicola. Yesterday a poll came out showing the SNP dipping below 40% for the first time in a while.
If this pans out, it will cause quite the upset and run a rather blue sword right through the SNP as seen here.
Which would rapidly nock on the head Sturgeon's constant calls for a neverendum as her position would be significantly weakened.

If you'd told someone ten years ago that in 2017 the largest opposition to the SNP would be the Conservatives, they'd probably have punched you in the face for taking the piss.
I do hope the neverendum thing gets quelled though. I wonder which fish-named person will lead the SNP next?

It's really just the way the votes have collapsed, to be honest. Scottish Labour couldn't be Labour enough for wider Scotland and was treated very indifferently by the Labour governments. This let the SNP in through the cracks who had to stand just an inch and a half to the left of Labour to appeal to dissatisifed scottish voters who wanted yet more fucking attention despite the close focus that had been placed on Scotland in the years since.
This then left a lot of unionist voters drifting because Labour had abandoned them and gotten wiped out with some farcical leaders who didn't seem to know what the fuck they were doing and were basically treated as a branch office by the Westminster Labour party who tried to keep central control and gave us comedy leaders like Jim Murphy who lasted under a year and Johann Lamont that nobody fucking remembers because she was the political equivalent of beige wallpaper.
The Tories, in comparison kept an eye on the Scottish Tories but began to liberalize and open up how it should be run largely by scottish hands and nearly all of this can be put down to Ruth Davidson's leadership and team around her.
She's the epitomy of a sterotypical scottish woman. Tough, no nonsense, drinks (tries to stay stone cold sober during the campaign, but even that she's failed at), up for a wee laugh especially when the cameras are around and could literally beat the shit out of anyone who attacked her and had she been used more effectively during the EU referendum campaign for the remain side have been devastating for being one of the few leading politicians that didn't come across as a screaming mong.
It also helps she's now been landing holes below Sturgeon's waterline for months now to the point she's called "Sturgeon's Personal Torturer". She's sucking up not really conservative voters (but they may become them provided both Ruth and May do a half decent job) but unionist voters instead.

Why do I get the feeling that even with the current shower like Corbin and Abbopotomous the Labour party won't just bin them off after their next trouncing making them unelectable for another 5 - 10 years didn't they learning nothing from Blair? The only way to get elected as Labour in this country is to try and look like a lite version of the Conservatives.
The Labour party had me solidly supporting them until Corbin came along, they lost me not just because of lacklustre policies, not just because they have become a shambling joke that needs to die, endless pie in the sky thinking, not just because they have two people willing to cosy up to some of the worst people in the world willingly because it support their own narrative - no they lost me because they have become increasingly self-destructive and are no longer about supporting people they are about supporting their own self-interest.
