Serious thought, though. If the kipper vote collapses in this election, and they have no MPs, will the BBC roll back on the grossly disproportionate amount of airtime they give the various chief kippers?

Considering how left wing the BBC entertainment wing is, they have to give far-right candidates that much time to balance it out and keep their claims of neutrality.

EDIT: Tories reckon Exit poll numbers don't add up https://twitter.com/tnewtondunn/sta...ww.bbc.co.uk/news/live/election-2017-40171454

And the Lib Dems have definitively ruled out a coalition.

Possibly, the problem was back in about 2008 smaller parties complained at their lack of ability to get onto the air, hence why the political shows run on forever now because they have to get people in like the Greens, Plaid, UKIP, SNP, on and on and on.

Following the declaration that Labour has held on to Houghton & Sunderland South, elections expert Peter Kelner comments that the Conservatives have done "substantially better" in that constituency than the exit poll predicted, and Labour has done substantially worse - despite, of course, winning both seats.

There may be hope yet...

I have a feeling a lot of these seats are closer than expected. Just a hunch though.

I said earlier that 76 seats are apparently too close to call at this time, plus we don't know where the seats used in the exit polls are and the new info that seems to point to a better Tory turnout in Labour safe seats.

The exit poll as it currently stands basically shows no movement in the Midlands marginals whatsoever for either side, or even taking seats which were way outside of the predictions.

Also Conservatives have seen an 11% rise in their vote share in two ultra-safe Labour seats, so something's quite off about this exit poll now.

EDIT: 20-25% of all votes cast by postal ballots.

I'm with @CWCissey on saying all I want is a government with a clear majority tomorrow. Coalitions were horrible that last time and it's the last thing anybody wants.

I'm in shock at just how much of a hatchet job Theresa May has done with this campaign all the same. She's taken what should have been a clear victory and could end up blowing the whole thing for her party. Surely she's done no matter what happens tonight.

They've just basically covered their arses to say the poll could be a huge pile of shit. "If it's out by as much as it had been so far we could easily look at a majority of 80-100 but 30-40 most likely."

I'm still not quite sure how she managed it. It's like trying to hit the broad side of a barn and not only missing, but somehow cutting your own balls off as well.

Exit poll man back on. He's very worried. And rightly so. He suspects, I think, he's dropped a bollock over not compensating for shy Tories and postal votes enough.

Neil Hamilton claims that Theresa May's campaign was a disaster.

That must sting coming from Neil Fucking Hamilton!

Who failed in a lolsuit against Mohammed al Fayed.

I don't know a damn thing about British politics, but this thread is fascinating and scary at once. Hoping for the best for you, Brit Kiwis ...
