Been doing some prodding and poking around the UK Polling Report's Swingometer Map and clicking on areas I know are relatively decent marginals.

What's surprising is how many of those marginals are now being classified as "Safe Seats" for the Tories even back in 2015 because of how much the local MPs managed to expand their majorities to over 10,000, or even holding nearly 50% of the vote.

These are even in seats where UKIP was polling close to 20% and the majority of their voters are expected to break for the Tories as they did elsewhere, which would make them very safe seats.

Just goes to show how much damage the wrong candidate can really do.

31 days to go chaps and chapesses!

Great though my debt to Emmeline Pankhurst is, I would appreciate not having to exercise my democratic duties for a while after this. Could we perhaps have six months or so without a major vote?

I suspect a lot (but not all) of those are seats where Labour took them in the first Blair landslide and they have now gone back to being solidly Tory? That was an extraordinary result.

Nope. Welcome to Perpetual Democracy. Where even as the Lib Dems and Labour get their shit kicked in they keep deluding themselves that if they have another go they can win somehow.

In other news there's now rumours going around Tim Farron's Westmoreland and Lonsdale seat has been added to Tory Hit Lists in an attempt to unseat an active Lib Dem leader.

Actually claiming Timmy Farron's scalp during this election would be easily as fun as watching Ed Balls get kicked out of Parliament.

Today, according to the Daily Mirror, the Tories are secretly plotting to bring back fox hunting.

Now I'm not a fan of fox hunting and don't honestly care for it one way or another. But I hope that if this is true, fox hunting is re-legalised, because the autistic screeching that will emanate from the animal rights brigade will be the stuff of legends.

I lived near two hunts and legitimately missed them, because a lot of folks would actually go and watch the hunt. The stupid shit with chasers and fox scent is just a load of bollocks, and the ban in Scotland caused farmers to resort to shotguns, which decimated the fox population.

Anyone watch the Daily Politics today?

They are interviewing the more minor parties and today was the Christian Peoples Alliance and since Andrew Neil was gone it was JoCo and guest Owen Smith.

It annoys me when the guest gets leading questions such what he thinks about Islam and then when he says things like he doesn't like how the quran promotes things like beheading non believers Owen Smith goes on a long rant taking up most the interview about how he thinks the politician is a hateful idiot (And other personal attacks not referring to the points made) and when the politician tries to defend himself is told to be quiet/ "You'll have time to reply after" and then after Owen Smith finishes we get a "We'll that's all we've got time for today!".

I'm glad we're getting the main interviews with Andrew Neil.

Andrew Neil is an amazing interviewer. He's a blunter, harsher, Scottish David Pakman

Quite right. How about a photograph of him putting his stern line of questioning to an unsuspecting interview subject:

Back on topic, though, I can't wait to see Jeremy Corbyn get brillo'd.

Sorry but as a someone who trained as a Gamekeeper I don't want traditional hunts to come back as they are a nightmare to keep under control and the dog's fuck up your beats and rides but I wish they would loosen the laws on Hair and Fox coursing, that's a totally different kettle of Fish and the Dog's are trained in a different way.

The problem it caused a problem with the wild cat population as well, lot's of farmer's have used the excuse of "I thought it was a fox" and some people have been caught up in the mess as well where farmers who just decide to blam through a bush at what they thinks a fox's get hit buy some shot.

To be honest when he's on message he's good but he also try's too hard to be funny at times that what stops him from becoming a true national treasure like Paxman.

I've considered myself to be a lifelong Labour supporter but he has single handily driven away my support for the party, dude hasn't just killed the Labour Party he's pissed on its corpse and shat on its ashes rolled it up and smoked it with somebody from the IRA. So I am looking forward to seeing him and his party faithful getting thoroughly trounced.

I can only agree.

I've never been a fan of Labour, but even they don't deserve this.

The political system needs an effective opposition or everyone ends up unhappy- eventually the party in power will become bloated and complacent.

Labour's Manifesto got fucking leaked

It's about as boringly boilerplate as expected.

Re-nationalize the railways. Yawn, and stupid. Establishing a "National/preferred Champion" like a number of other countries do and allowing it to bid for contracts would be easier, as would simply extending the franchises like Chiltern got which worked superbly is going to be way cheaper.

Scrap tuition fees. Might get rid of the dross and endless dicks taking gender studies, but would see university drop back to the top 10/15% going to Uni.

Keep Trident. Beardy McTerror Sandals won't like that.

Weaker on Brexit, refuse to leave without some kind of deal in place, even though its up to the EU's discretion to any extensions to the negotiating process.

It's got loads of promises to spend on this and that but other than "increase taxes on high earners" no indication as to how it'll be paid for.

Given they mention taking advantage of low interest rates, they probably intend to borrow like fuck and put everything on PFI so it's Someone Else's Problem in twenty years time.

If Jeremy is reading here, talk to someone.

His driver also ran over a BBC Cameraman earlier today too.

Here's his face as they drive away after crushing the guy between a wall and a moving vehicle.

The Tom Cruise looking dickhead is Stalinist Seamus Milne.

The best bit of the manifesto is "Not to use the armed forces unless as a last resort." as if every government since Suez has had a dramatic moment of a PM slamming the table and going "LETS SLAUGHTER EVERYONE!" whenever an issue comes up.
