Two men have been released on bail after allegedly throwing fists and swearing during an execution in Texas.
Billie Wayne Coble, 70, was put to death by lethal injection nearly 30 years after murdering his wife's parents and brother.
His son and grandson, Gordon Wayne and Dalton, allegedly became violent witnessing his death and were arrested after swearing and lashing out.
The pair were later released on bail of $1,000 (£755).
Gordon Wayne Coble's wife also allegedly caused a disturbance but was not charged.
Billie Wayne Coble is the oldest inmate executed in Texas since the state resumed capital punishment in 1982.
The Vietnam War veteran was convicted in 1989 of killing Robert and Zelda Vicha and their son Bobby.
Coble had previously kidnapped his then-wife, Karen Vicha, apparently distraught over their pending divorce.
He was released on bail before killing her family members nine days later.
At his execution, his son and grandson allegedly began swearing and kicking other people in the witness room, with Gordon Wayne allegedly pounding on the window of the chamber.
Officers intervened and took them outside where they were charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Coble was once described by a prosecutor as having "a heart full of scorpions".

Swearing during an execution is an arrestable offence in Texas?

This is why we should have the guillotine. Best execution method ever.
Seriously French stuff is severely underrated. From the Mas-36 which to me is one of the best WWII bolt actions (it and the Carcano are criminally underrated) to this method of just dropping a heavy sharp blade and cutting off someone's head. Even if they are alive for like 6 seconds, there is no way ANYONE survives that. Even the Highlander dies if you take off his head.

There's some doubts on how long you stay conscious after being decapitated. I've heard some say 10-20 seconds.

Leading to the hilarious story of rival lords getting guillotined, and the second one managing to bite the nose of the first so hard that they couldn't separate them.

Artillery. You know what's quick? 105mm shells. You know what's instant? Receiving a 105mm shell. You know what's suitably American? Execution by 105mm howitzer.

Nitrogen asphyxiation. Reportedly it is just like going to sleep. Already used as a euthanasia method.
Nitrogen is also an industrial gas that doesn't need to be imported at absurd mark ups from India like the multiple chemicals used in lethal injections. Even if you have to make an air-tight room for the execution chamber, it's still much cheaper in the long run as a humane execution method.

  1. Appeals
  2. America wants the death penalty but is too squeamish to chop heads or drop hang
  3. Nobody wants to give America the drugs for lethal injections
4. Bullets are good enough for stopping crimes in progress but too taboo to kill someone convicted of a crime with for some stupid fucking reason.

Cruel and unusual punishment. Basically, it all started when an anti-capital punishment argument went "executing someone is cruel and unusual punishment." This went through various Courts who eventually said, "no, execution in and of itself is neither cruel nor unusual, but making them suffer unduly doing so is." The rest is an autistic slapfight about what is suffering.

Lmao so its somehow less cruel to use them in stopping a dangerous person in the act but super cruel to use to kill them after conviction?

Besides... With the right marksman it wouldn't be cruel at all. Super cheap too. A lifetime of feeding and housing an animal versus a single .50 cal to the dome. Now I'm no mathematician but I may know a thing or two about which number is bigger than the other.
