"Big Tech" since 2010 or so has more power, influence and money than the Government.

No matter what law will pass or get annihilated, "Big Tech" will find a way to ignore it by throwing money at it or making deals with people in power or influencing the public oppinion to counter it.

"Normal People" already lost, I'm afraid.

In the world of 3st world dictators, the correct thing to do is to make your own praetorian guard entity and fill it with people loyal to you - to counter the army which has the actual power and will dethrone your ass if you go against them. The only winning move here I think is to gather a team of "patriotic" autists and order them to create a GovFacebook, GovTwitter and GovGoogle. It'll be dead-on-arrival because it's too late, but at least has a >0% chance to change something for the better for "Normal People". If somehow the useless Federal Tax got set to fund the whole thing, it might have a chance IMO.

It doesn't really matter, though. What matters is if you care about the Internet and First Amendment protections under it, you're utterly fucked, because whether you vote for a Republican or a Democrat, they both intend to destroy it utterly. Your vote means fucking nothing on that issue because absolutely nobody represents your interests or even pretends to.

Please inform me: just who was the malevolent fuck who suggested that "Democracy" is the best thing evar? Even in Athens "Democracy" (note the Deep Respect) was little more than tribal gathering of ~5% of city-state population to discuss things - and Athens got trashed by Romans anyway, being nothing more than a walled prison gang competing with other walled prison gangs called city-states in Ancient Greece.

"Democracy" is literally a patchwork administrative system tribes come up with and get rid off at the point population gets too big for "Democracy" to work as intended. Who came up with this idiocy that "Democracy" is the greatest thing to govern multimillion entities with?

(Yeah, I know we have "Republics", I'm talking voting rights for every citizen no exceptions)

Probably. I also don't think Congress is really interested in repealing 230. Both Presidential candidates are utterly worthless on the issue and even actively hostile, though. They just have different reasons for hating freedom. Trump is mad because his own tweets got fucked with and Biden wants to force social media to push his own agenda while deleting the opposition. Biden's position honestly may be worse and more insidious.

Oh, trust me, it WILL at some point blow up in your Amerifat faces, but that ain't my problem.
 
It's probably not going to get repealed or irreparably damaged (this time) just as we probably weren't actually going to war with Syria, Russia, or Iran. It's still perfectly reasonable to be angry about him making moves like he wants to do that, though, and it's a moronic move on his part that he can't really afford to do this year when he's been utterly lameduck with getting the county reopened, kickstarting the economy again, or keeping money in people's pockets. If his opponent were anyone other than Senile Joe who also wants to repeal S230 it'd be an amazing achievement of him snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

All that said, anyone who says "The Dems will never agree because Orange Man BAD" forgets that every time Trump threatened to do a thing that pissed off his base (so the almost wars, basically, except Iran where he never implied he was intending to go to war) all that ORANGE BAD suddenly morphed overnight into praise. I think even CNN said something like "For the first time Trump looks presidential" after a speech he made about dead babies in Syria. They 180 on any random thing he says, but if he goes for a policy they want that's completely against his voting base, they'll jump on it immediately. They're not that dumb.
