It's one of the things that has made TV Tropes so schizophrenic. Their slash and burn of adult/pedo works was organized on the forum side, while the wiki side was kept fairly ignorant due to bad communication (and the shit reminders) for quite awhile, so by the time everyone was up to speed, it caused a shitton of drama and bad blood between the two factions.

In fact, a common criticism by the guys who founded All The Tropes is that the TVT forum is a body unto itself, not a mere extension of the wiki, which, in certain areas, is indisputably true.

Yeah I noticed this when I used to be on the forums. Neither half seemed to keep in constant contact with one another. Even I was never aware of many of the changes that was going on behind the scenes (or much of the userbase until I read the ED article).

That's because until the redesign, the only way to access the forum from the wiki was a very tiny little button that only appeared on the front page with the same emphasis and priority of, say, "story generator".
 
Browsing Literature DMOS.
  • HMSaph: There was one moment in Inkspell that made me really angry. I thought Dustfinger's wife Roxanne was an okay character until the penultimate chapter. Basta had killed Farid earlier in the book, and Dustfinger made a deal with the White Women — his life to bring Farid back, and the deal was made. Roxanne decides to take Dustfinger's body somewhere, and when Farid disagrees with her, saying that Orpheous can use Word Power to bring him back, she gives us this needlessly cruel line:
    "Get out of my sight! The very first time I saw you coming to my farm, I knew you brought bad luck. You ought to be dead, not Dustfinger. That's how it is and that's how it stays."

    For f**** sake, her husband just died to save Farid, whom she already dislikes. She's not allowed to be a bit angry? DMOS's have no sense of character nor plot.
 
From the Western Animation DMOS.

  • djx1100: Speaking of Pearl, "Rose's Scabbard" i believe was a very moving and well written episode. However i believe Pearl acted completely selfish in the episode and showed no regard for anybody elses feelings. Especially when she tells steven "You never even knew her!" Of course its supposed to show how important Rose meant to Pearl but she comes off as incredibly selfish and rude. Worst part is that she never even apologizes for the line.

That was the fucking point, you idiot. To show how damaged Pearl is. What, so a character isn't allowed to have any flaws? Go to hell.
 
Didn't even notice that Fast Eddie was replaced, though I haven't been involved in TVTropes in a while (I was never much into the community). I do remember how they got rid of the adult/pedo stuff not because of moral decision (or even threat of a lawsuit) but because it was getting flagged by their advertisers. That to me spoke more about the man about than anything else.

I do remember reading somewhere (I believe it was Tumblr) about how it was the SA goons that were the ones that messed up TVTropes and really were the one responsible for taking out Troper Tales and largely a lot of the fun out of the site. That's not to say that TVTropes doesn't have its own problems, they're basically free advertising for TGWTG as well, and have a lot of their brain-damaged fans.

It's mostly all bitching about teachers and parents in media like a butthurt 12-year-old
