I was going to make a dumb joke about how Everybody Loves Raymond was too realistic for them, as they choose to not have normal lives (let alone married lives), but then I remember that a few years ago, they hated Debra with a passion like she was Satan incarnate. That entire YMMV page was listed with tropes shitting on her and calling her abusive. She was the sitcom version to whatever cartoon character hurt their fee-fees.

I could see them relate to getting smothered by a woman like Marie well into their 40's, though.
Let me guess they hated her because of the actress political views

Actually no, this was back when Tropers were more on the incel/"nice guy" side of things.
Yeah, now that you mention it. There was a long, long stretch when they were parroting everything Mr. Enter says. At rhe time, he was shrieking about "bumbling dad" tropes.

I ran into a few conservatives on TVT back in the day. One in particular was huge Reaganite. Unleash the cops, administer instant justice. He claimed to be in the Air Force. You could tell he spent every waking moment on the forums rather than doing anything of worth.

After Trump and Gamergate, it switched, and the site went full IDpol. Trump supporters are shouted down, something which simply wasn't allowed before. Eddie might have been a scumbag, but he was consistent in his libertarian ethos, flawed as it is.

Fighteer is more partisan. He's building an army of unemployed twenty-somethings who will be the future of America. The only difference between him and Cambridge Analytica is that his bots do it for free.

Who wants to see Fighteer arguing over economics and losing it?
He's an Obama-style lib. No solutions, no plans for the rust belt. Just censorship and waffle.

DC didn't know it, but they sold a comic satirizing the Obama years.

The examples listed for the concept of an "Allegorical Character" are about one-third cartoons, going by both textual size and amount of franchises.

I didn't watch this show even when I was interested in the MCU, but I'm pretty sure this is exaggerated to hell and back. One villain being a villain = This is how men are evul

ME: I haven't thought about that show in years.

Ultimately it's about Kilgrave trying to hit reset on a failed relationship. That's the punchline.

There's an element of class warfare, as well: Kilgrave being a toff who has literally never heard the word 'no', being above the law and abusing menial workers. It's political, but not in a "get out the vote" sense.

TVT has a habit of talking up villains like they're the next Anton Chigurh. But that comes from being an attention-seeking kid who overstates things.

This and Popular with Furries are probably the two worst “tropes” on the site. The latter is pretty much nothing but furries thirstposting about every anthro character ever.
Honestly why they don't deserve any kind of respect. They are degenerates that has to make everything revolve around them as if their community and interests are special because it's not normal in the worst sense of the word, and when they get called out for it they play the victim card.

that and piggybacking onto the lgbt crowd like some kind of sick parasite

A lot of it reads like a Just For Fun page where people WMG (usual WMG standards of logical sense) about what could potentially raise the eyebrow of at least one sentient being.

I’m glad they’re cleaning some of it up. I do actually use the Nightmare Fuel pages sometimes (as I’ve said elsewhere, I really don’t handle horror well) and half the time it’s so full of crap that it’s useless. The fact that a show like Bleach (which had maybe one creepy moment and one slightly disturbing shot) had a longer entry than Bioshock, Berserk or Made In Abyss makes it hard to put anything in perspective.

I remember when the site used to divide entries between "Nightmare Fuel" and "High Octane Nightmare Fuel". The former was for works not intended to be scary while the latter was for works that were explicitly horror themed and for mature audiences.

I'm guessing the average troper was too stupid to understand the difference, which is why it's all now one big hodgepodge of things that only the littlest of children or the most severely autistic would find scary.

Lol I just noticed how they mention furries scalies on the LGBT Fanbase page for animated films.

Neither group is considered an inherent part of the LGBT community. But I guess they are now.

I have never heard of a straight furry. I'm pretty sure all of them are at least bisexual or otherwise open to having sex with a dude wearing a fursuit of a fox or whatever with tits.
