I remember that at the top of the page for "Badass Gay" there was a quote from SonicFox of all people, implying that he's an unironic example of a "Badass Gay". I intended on posting it here a while back, but sadly the pages all got deleted before I could get around to it.

By their sub-zero standards he would be seen as a badass. Anyone that thinks a Furry is a badass need to be in front of a flamer, a heavy flamer (in minecraft).

So I poked my nose into their American politics thread and I see someone complaining about how HIV killed off a lot of leftists and whining about the lack of accessible healthcare in America. As if nobody knew about the dangers of veneral diseases, back then.

As an reference, nearly 700 thousand deaths out of a population of 330 million is a decent ratio. And we were down to 40 thousand deaths, last year.

It's depressingly accurate.

The example I point to is the episode where the family goes to Italy. Ray's mom keeps harping on about (real and imagined) grievances while Ray is trying to take in the sights. The part about the father (Peter Boyle) checking out mentally and letting the family spiral into dysfunction; that rings true, also.

Sitcoms are character-driven affairs, often focusing on the less-appealing aspects of life and poking fun at them.

It's a feature of humanity which Tropers simply lack. They're incapable of reacting to Brad's expression in a flippant manner. I guess it's no surprise that they're freaked out by Rocko, Courage TCD, Invader Zim, Classic Spongebob, etc. because they don't follow familiar tropes, or resolve conflicts by the end of the episode.

They associate better with MLP and Pokémon and retreat into that.
