E;R talks about how much of a piece of shit John "Children can consent to sex" Money was and how Rebecca Sugar shamelessly promoted his pseudo-scientific gender theory and here's tropers thinking "HE'S SHOEHORNING A TRANSPHOBIC TALKING POINT TO ATTACK STEVEN UNIVERSE AND REBECCA SUGAR!!!!!"
TvTropes never changes.

> depending on the point of view this take could be controversial or it could not be

Schroedinger's nazism, if someone i don't like says something i agree with, they must be arguing in "bad faith". like when the ADL said Borat was problematic until other jews told them "calm down, this guy's one of us." it must actually be quite tiring having to see absolutely everything through the lens of "is this bad for us, do we attack it or not".

They used to have a full page, but it was purged to satisfy their Google overlords.
It gets better, they used to cite FATAL on random trope pages, and not even just the weird sex shit or violence. The entry would read like an innocuous description of some generic RPG's game mechanic.
It's been that way since 2012.
Back in 2010 or so when I liked TVTropes I remembered it had some funny descriptions of things although it's been so long it probably blended together in my head with that one really long review of it.

Yeah, Fighteer doesn't care for me at all. I once posted from a Bronx school where my mom was teaching, and he threatened to call the authorities and alert them to a creeper hanging around a public school.
Well, they also hate it went you register with a VPN, ignoring the fact that most of the ban evaders are too dense to move onto another page.

And also, the newest mod is perfectly capable of banning someone; but he, like the rest of the mod team, expects the community to revert the banned dude's edits while it would be faster if someone with admin tools did it.

Probably he'll get flagged if he system restores too many pages without Fighteer's OK.

He's that guy at the office who demands to know why you need a paper clip before giving you one.

People who didn't like disco music back in the day hated black people, women, or gay people. Also, apparently, people in the 70s thought it was really stupid that "white people" listened to "black people music" and associated black musicians with disco even when that wasn't necessarily true until Michael Jackson and Prince came along. Does anyone know how true any of this is?
thats just the nature of trends... first they start out relatively obscure, then they hit the mainstream, then theres a brief honeymoon period where its mainstream and enjoyable, then you start to get tired of it, then you hate it, the society as a whole gets sick of it, then they move onto the next thing

Honeslty no one should be defending John Money he's a suck fuck who deserves to be punch in the face

The SpongeBob SquarePants episode "All That Glitters" is a particularly notorious example of this. Through methods that come across as a Space Whale Aesop and turn SpongeBob into a Designated Villain for an undeserving amount of Aesop Collateral Damage, SpongeBob is taught a lesson that betraying your friends is wrong. ...Even though this friend is an inanimate spatula, has nothing to do with what the title implies, and SpongeBob is learning all this while spending the entire episode naked.
SpongeBob: But I didn't mean to betray you. Mr. Krabs said I needed a new spatula! Krabby Patties don't just flip themselves, you know. It was a moment of weakness!
Great, more fucking Spongebob "analysis"

Funny how the first edit only mentions incontinence and epilepsy while leaving out the psychological side effects. I'm pretty sure that's a just a coincidence and has nothing to do with the editor having some...weird tastes.

TV Tropes: A completely normal website for completely normal people.
