HAHAHAHAHA GO FUCK YOURSELVES

In these uncertain times, tropers are asking for dating/life advice.

It's as stupid as it sounds.

Jesus Christ those fucking wiki links :story:

"I never dated much in high school because All Love Is Unrequited and All Girls Want Bad Boys. Now that I've dodged The Baby Trap, I'm dealing with The Plague spread by the Kiss of Death, meaning that I Can't Have Sex Ever until this ends. Should I try to be The Casanova, or should I just look for my Sweetheart From The Ground-Up?"

ETA: "Should I be going for dating or casual sex?" :story:

Do you think he tries to pick up girls at bars by talking about tropes?

Check out the YMMV page for BO Cold War:

  • Unfortunate Implications: The uncritical use of the Yuri Bezmenov interview for the trailer takes a really dark turn considering that even without it's full context, the trailer is essentially vilifying all anti-establishment protest movements between the 1980s and the present as a Communist Plot. It effectively dismisses the legitimate grievances of people against systemic oppression and Imperialistic warmongering as useful idiots for the Anti-Semitic Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory.
Also the Trivia page:

Be Careful What You Wish For: The reveal trailer posted in late August 2020 would be this for all the left-leaning gaming journalists and mainstream media that demand the shoehorning of modern politics in everything. The archive footage and talking points in said trailer are relevant to the game's framework. However, what really has said mainstream media riled up is just how relevant the "Active Measures" discussed in the trailer are in 2020, as they seemingly predicted events taking place from the mid-2010s leading up to, and including 2020. Ergo, it hit too close to home for the aforementioned people. A discussion of the trailer and the relevance of the interview can be found here.

Was going to post that but you beat me too it

The first entry in trivia is rather based.... the one under it (obviously written by a diffferent person) ruins it. Im more surprised that there are people left on tv tropes who havent drunken the kool aid

It's soooooo easy for one person to twist a ymmv page to their belief/opinions.

None of these people seem to understand that left-wing movements may emerge organically, but they near-consistently end up being fueled and empowered by foreign intervention. This is because these movements provide a potential vanguard for communist insurrection, which China and the Soviets desperately craved in their desire to become the one world power.

If we're talking about a feminist bias on tvtropes, consider checking out the Woman in the Fridge page. If a woman dies and a man feels bad as a natural consequence: that's fridging.
So basically you just can't kill a woman. Even if the "manpain" is incidental and not the actual narrative reason for the death.

There's often a fine line between something that is clearly unintended but is a strange oversight in the work and "well you can't PROVE me wrong so it's YMMV". The latter is something not present in any serious detail but as a consequence is also not technically impossible. But can be anything.

Fridging happens to male characters just as frequently. THomas Wayne, Jason Todd, Jor El, Johnathan Kent in some versions, Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy's dad (I forget his name), Abraham (((Erskine))), Ho Yinsen, Obi Wan Kenobi, Qui Gon Jinn, George Joestar, Will and Caesar Zeppeli, Maes Hughes, Soap Mctavish, Seargant Johnson, alll of the Band of the Hawk

During the cold war yes, nowadays not really. Antifa sprung up from the same political outrage that made Bernie popular for a few years prior, and BLM started in America and then spread to other countries (especially Britain) in a weaker form later.

Not to get too far off-topic, but I honestly think the Woke Left as a whole is the result of natural outrage the Millennials had over the Great Recession and the old Religious Right of their youths colliding with Cold War era "active measures" that eventually became self-sustaining.

Keep in mind that Yuri Bezemenov mentioned that the KGB intended for their infiltration efforts to become self-sustaining after a certain point. It's possible that programs that began in the 60's and 70's could've kept on going by themselves after the Soviet Union fell.

Plus there's the issue of China picking up where the USSR left off, since the CCP placed a bigger emphasis on deception and subversion than the Soviets did. A lot of the corporations that control this country de facto are also deeply in bed with the Chinese government since it's a very lucrative market.
