What context did they say "nuts" in? It would be especially funny it the statement was about testicles, the expression of disappointment, or the actual fruit type.

Fittingly enough, they almost acted out the meme with him.

I just wanted to know what the game is like, not whether or not the Xenomorphs are a metaphor for animal rights and how I should sympathize with them.

Oh, man, I forhot about that one...and the Family Guy episode "Not All Dogs Go to Heaven" (that's the one where Meg becomes a born-again Christian after getting the mumps and Brian gets harassed for being atheist. To be fair though, that one is kinda controversial, but, like most things in Tropers' eyes, they exaggerate. I listened to the DVD commentary and Seth MacFarlane even said he wanted the episode to try and be as evenhanded about religion as possible. Can't say it worked; can't say it failed. I think Tropers were mad that the episode didn't focus on the subplot of Stweie abducting the Star Trek: The Next Generation crew after missing out on them at a Comic Con).

Something I noticed while browsing a few pages a few weeks ago that this thread reminded me of

Thanks, TV Tropes. I really wanted to think about an underage anime character's pubes (the skirt isn't even short enough to warrant writing something like that anyway)

It's also weird what a staggering amount of tropes about shipping is there. Leave it to tropers to create categories for even the most inane of things.

All I see is Adric being stupid amongst a crowd of autists debating the movie, basically like the thread here if it were run by fans of Episode VIII instead of haters. And then on page 373-375 Adric sperging about ableism, which makes me want to delve into all his favorite 70s progressive rock albums I know he likes and find lyrics he'd be offended by.

Did he really get banned for that? That thread doesn't show much other than complaining how "nuts" is offensive to Aspergers people (despite another sperg saying that it wasn't actually offensive). What's the post he got banned for?
 
A subtle example that even fans might not have noticed—they stopped using words like "crazy" or "insane", often cited by mental health advocates as an example of ableist language, as it uses mental illness in and of itself as an insult. At the same time, they started using the arguably-funnier "buckwild" in places where words like crazy or insane might commonly be used. They never drew attention to the change, and it might just be a branding or humor decision, but it would fit entirely that they decided to find an alternate term.

I've dug through an few more posts and we have yet another topic that nobody asked for, with an guest appearance by Fighteer!

As for why he was banned, let's say that you know somebody IRL. You, your friends, and this guy just got done watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and as you're walking out of theater, talking about how the movie was, the odd one out stops all of you. He screams that he has an important announcement to make and random people start staring at him. He starts ranting on how Mantis is an racist caricature, putting someone to sleep or reading their thoughts is rape and starts praising the gold guys (who are elitist assholes that sane people avoid).

Cue awkward silence from everyone.

Do you really expect someone who keeps making an big deal on SJW bullshit will actually have an lot of normal friends?

No, we know Adric is some weird bowl-cutted sperg and probably has no friends aside from other autists. But where's the mods bringing the banhammer down? I see Fighteer got pissed in that thread, but where's Fighteer or some other Troper mod smacking down Adric?

I think this is one of those cases where they got tired of him being the word police for the past few months. The 2 examples that I gave were the latest that I could find. And his last post was completely ordinary...and then he was banned on June 6th between 10am and noon.

From what I could tell, Fighteer privately brought it up with the other mods about what happened in that Deadpool thread and decided to give him an lecture after they saw too much SJW sperging from him.
 
Recently, someone got edit-banned for thinking that the word "bully" was offensive.

Reading this post reminded me of something that used to be on "What Do You Mean, It's Not For Kids?". On the entry for Nicki Minaj's "Starships", which discussed how it was used in the trailer for a movie for toddlers called The Oogieloves, claimed that kids shouldn't hear about people paying rent, claiming it was as bad as the actual swear word in the song!
