Both Keanu and Snipes have some other assets besides a longcoat.Something tells me no troper looks like either one of them on even their worst days.

Tropers are more like this.

Although, honestly, this guy may be better than Tropers. At least he seems to be healthy weight.

Apparently making triggered jokes makes you an "edgelord piece of shit" now. Then again this is coming from the same guy who thinks "cringe" is an alt-right term so I'm not shocked in the least.

Adrian, that's because you are exactly the kind of person people talk about when they talk about how shitty SJWs are.

Or maybe Rob gets "overlooked" because making a "triggered" joke isn't even close to the kinds of shit Michaud and co have pulled?

Holy fuck, I give up.
Hello yes local Tumblrina and internet exceptional here to explain some things.

Triggered is a dumb term to use, but it can also be an accurate one. "Trigger" just means to cause something. In the neuroatypical community, this can mean a meltdown, splitting, an overstimulation episode, a dissociative episode, a panic attack, etc. But something can also cause a chain of events or an overreaction and still be called a trigger. For example, KF triggers a lot of overreactions on Twitter. So I think that triggered in and of itself isn't ableist at all to use. It has a definition completely outside of neuroatypicality.

That being said, even if it was ableist, Michaud seems to emotionally abuse/bully his employees, so of course people are going to talk about Michaud more. Rob is just annoying.

Disliking fangirls is really common for content creators. A lot of them feel violated when a fangirl ships them with someone else or describes them in a sexual manner (Although, apparently TGWTG & co used to promote it) and some fangirls threaten suicide, talk about showing up to people's houses, etc, so it's not really a sexism thing at all. Take note that I am trying to distinct a fangirl from a fan who happens to be a girl. If they just don't want girls as fans, I'd understand the argument.

I never drew the connection between butthurt and rape. I always associated butthurt with like a diaper rash or something to do with a painful bowel movement. Insinuating the person is a baby or has a case of diarrhea. Can anyone verify what it means?

I thought it meant getting spanked hard.

The connection I drew was to the phrase "he's got a stick up his ass", like the person is so uptight that when something doesn't go their way they have a meltdown.

Dumbest case of nightmare fuel on TVTropes?
This bit from the Super Mario Galaxy page always bugged me.

  • ADMIT IT, you were scared when the universe was destroyed. If you understood the Gainax Ending quickly enough for the repercussions to take you by surprise, that is.
I hate that they're trying to make it seem like it scared everyone when it reality it only scared the troper. For fuck's sake, the ending to Galaxy wasn't scary at all.

Some other choice bits from the page.

This is what they're talking about.

Don't show this person any Silent Hill or Resident Evil. It might give them a heart attack.

  • How about that swirling black vortex that spawns at certain points, just waiting to suck you in if you fall? And the sound it makes when you do... ESPECIALLY that sound... shudders

What, you mean the black holes that make a cartoony sound when you get sucked in? Oh yes, that is totally on par with the likes of Nemesis from RE3 and the Grey Children from Silent Hill.

If you're claustrophobic, the ending of Dusty Dune's 'Sunbaked Sandcastle' star feels a little scary since the sand has risen so much your trapped in a glass dome.
  • Luckily you can escape by collecting the star.
Footage of the horror.

I don't get how anyone can be scared since you're only in the dome for a super-brief period of time. I'm also a little surprised they didn't mention the music. It's not scary, but considering they're using a minor detail like the glass dome at the end, it's weird they ignore the major details like the urgent music.

Sort of noticeable in the Metroid series of games: In the Japanese-made 2D games, Samus is a somewhat understated character, implied to not be terribly well-known outside of people who need to know who she is (typically, the Federation and some of the Pirates that she has history with). In the American-made 3D games, Samus is well-known by nearly everyone, played up like some sort of celebrity or war goddess, universally feared by the Pirates and well-respected by even the newest recruits in the Federation; in other words, a more Hollywood-esque portrayal of a heroine of her stature. Incidentally, the Japanese 2D games are also the ones to show Samus scantily clad in her "reveal", even in Zero Mission, the first 2D game to show her in her Zero Suit (which appear in some of the endings, but she's wearing less in others). It was the Americans who first made an attempt to cover her up, with Prime never showing less than her without her helmet, and Prime 2 featuring her slinky but functional-looking Zero Suit. Prime 3 goes back to a simple helmet removal.
Or you know, They didn't bring it up in the Japanese 2D games because there was next to no dialogue to begin with, and with an equal lack of NPCs. But sure, keep deluding yourselves into thinking you're "OMG SO PROGRESSIVE!", and ignore how the Spanish-developed Samus Returns does the same thing, or how Retro Studios didn't really do what they were claiming to begin with. Fuck this re.tarded """"trope"""".

This is not "scantily clad", you stupid motherfuckers.
You're just angry because you stupidly think that having an athletic build is "OMG SEXIST!", and that women should only be portrayed as fat and gross landwhales.
Oh wait, never mind, you get butthurt (TRIGGERED!) over that too. My bad!
