Talking about TGWTG I've noticed recently how reluctant TVTropes are to talk about the recent Twitter incident where a lot of the old guard came together and talked about how awful their time was there.
Well of course. Because it means they have to accept the reality that TGWTG wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, which lends more credence to what the critics of Channel Awesome have been saying for years now.

And we all know how much TV Tropes hates reality.

Was going through this page and noticed something that made me laugh under Web Original.

You can tell this is an old entry. No way in hell would the fucking Nostalgia Critic be considered a cash cow on the same level as Google and Facebook, but TVTropes gonna TVTropes.

More TGWTG dicksucking. Disgusting.
Also:
>RWBY
>anime
You're shitting me, right?
No, no they are not. Then again, 4Chan has a hard time wondering what the hell it's supposed to be too. And I don't think it helps that it's got both a Japanese dub and a page on ANN (then again, they have pages on cartoons like Transformers G1 and ThunderCats, so fuck if I know the logic behind them having a RWBY page).

Granted, both G1 (the first two seasons and the movie) and Thundercats were animated by Toei. Though, Transformers is one of the few American franchises that gets an anime on a consistent basis, considering the popularity of the series in Japan. Hell, Japan made Transformers Headmasters, which ignores everything after the 1986 movie. Also, RWBY is pure skub, along with TVTropes.

Toei actually animated half of season 3 as well. ThunderCats was sent off to some other companies (including AIC), but that's neither here nor there. The problem is that they- TVTropes, ANN and Japan itself- think an internet series originating from Texas is considered a fucking anime.

In Japan pretty much anything animated is called "anime".

Not in America though.
I've always wondered why we basically bastardized what is simply the Japanese word for "animation".
I personally blame the weebs that want to be seen as these "totally unique snowflakes with totally unique tastes". AKA TV Tropes.
In fact, the more I look into it, their "animation age ghetto" page exists only because they're ass-blasted that nobody takes their animated wank fodder seriously, because I can't think of anyone I've met offline that has this alleged prejudice towards cartoons.
I mean, you could bring up the Oscars, but those are just pretentious old farts that nobody should take seriously.

Truly an insufferable site that is the leading source of skub. Hell, 1d4chan has an article about TVTropes and they roast their ass over a grill. /co/ doesn't like them either.

I mean, no one likes the Oscars as it is (after all, this year set an all time low on viewership). So them bashing those old farts is nothing new or fancy.

  • Mario in general is the most beloved Nintendo character of all time, but his personality and treatment in Smash have been slightly contentious. Brawl and 3DS/Wii U eschew Mario's usual Fun Personified depiction for a more "hardcore" and "stoic" vibe barely seen elsewhere apart from Super Mario Strikers; some fans enjoy this different take on Mario because it fits more with the game's diverse blend of characters, while others claim that it makes him less likable and doesn't mesh well with his quirky, iconic design and voice, not helped by his Most Annoying Sound of "Hoooooo... HAH!" during all three of his victory poses in those two games. Additionally, Mario gets more focus than any other character in the games and their marketing; aside from the bloated and sometimes redundant representation of his franchise in general, he's the universal "default" or "tester" character for many of the in-game options, many ads and the "How to Play" videos play up his rivalry with DK or Bowser rather than the Massive Multiplayer Crossover aspect, note and he was a notoriously and annoyingly common amiibo for most of 2014 and 2015. Some people accept this due to his role as Nintendo's mascot and the resident Jack-of-All-Statscharacter, while others claim that excessive exposure of any kind is bad and that Mario's fame and importance don't make him immune to its adverse effects.
  • Many are irritated that Sonic may not be using enough of his material, particularly his attacks from Sonic the Fightersand Sonic Battle. This is mostly due to several of his moves having him use various Rolling Attacks, and his Spin Dash and Spin Charge special moves in particular being quite similar to each other instead of something more unique like the Light Speed Dash or Boost. The fact that this hasn't changed in the fourth game, despite Sonic's buff in KO power, has made matters worse, but some have realized that this may have been intentional the whole time in order to improve Sonic as a Confusion Fu fighter. Also, Sonic only having shades of blue for his Palette Swaps, when he could have had colors that reference other characters from the series, has made quite a few people mad.
  • As of For 3DS/Wii U, Samus's moveset has grown divisive. Said game introduced a few characters making much more extensive use of projectiles for both special moves and normal moves (Mega Man, Mii Gunner, and to a lesser extent Villager). Meanwhile, Samus's own moveset, which has remained generally consistent since 64, only uses projectiles for her specials while using hand-to-hand attacks for everything else. Similar to Ganondorf, many wish Samus got a moveset revamp that allows her to use projectiles in her normal moveset, as Samus almost entirely fights with her gun in her home series and that it would be unfair for her to not have heavier projectile use when characters such as Mega Man do. Others think, since Samus already has four specials taken from her games, she is already very faithful and doesn't need anything else. Heightening the debate is, again, her tier placement; she is considered a bottom-tier character thanks to her poor melee options and over-reliance on long-range projectiles. Many believe that giving Samus projectile normals would make her a much more viable character as well as help differentiate her from her higher-tier and more melee-focused Zero Suit form.
  • A rather minor one in comparison to others but plenty of Pac-Man's fans were disappointed when he didn't have any moves from the Pac-Man World series. The only exception being his up aerial — which resembles the flip-kick from PMW2. Most will agree that his moveset is fun to use despite this, though.
  • Some fans don't like how Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Diddy Kong have "realistic" voices instead of their human-provided voices from their home games. In Bowser's and Donkey Kong's case, this is oddly despite the fact that they have occasionally been depicted with realistic voices in the Mario series, such as in Mario Kart 64 (which one of Bowser's roars is taken from) and, for Bowser, New Super Mario Bros. 1 (complete with a hunched-over posture similar to his depiction in Melee and Brawl). Others find their current voices in their home series Narmy and find the "realistic" voices refreshing. Oddly enough, Charizard suffers from the opposite problem: while it has more emotional, human-voiced roars, it still has a more feral, hunched-over stance than in its home series, which makes it move and attack similarly to Bowser in Melee and Brawl.
I have never heard any of these before I saw this page. I have a good feeling these all just the opinion of a single butthurt fanboy.

Are there any pop culture 'analysis' sites that have not become 'infected' with the SJW virus?Or even if they're left wing they keep that crap to a minimum so you won't end up reading or hearing about 'white people/privilege/cis whatever'.Actually good sites/online producers who say or write something that is legitimately good. From what i see most have become SJW crap over the years.
I was reading an article on the agonybooth(a site i occassionaly looked at) and it said the reason why the Boondock Saints has aged badly is because there's too much violence and guns in it.Apparently there is a direct correlation between that movie and mass shootings or some crap??I'm not a fan of that movie but still the reasons boiled down to progressive politics and not much else.As a rule if you start hating art because of politics then odds are you're the problem not the piece of art itself.

My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Rainbow Rocks is considered a Surprisingly Improved Sequel and Growing the Beardto the Equestria Girls Spin-Off. Its sequel, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Friendship Games, had a lot to live up to. Opinions are divided regarding how well it compares.
  • My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) has a character example in the form of the Storm King: Compared to other villains and ex-villains of the series like Tirek or Discord, or even Tempest Shadow within this movie, he comes off underwhelming. He doesn't show up until halfway in the movie and once he finally does show up, his performance is pretty lackluster. He falls into the typical villain traps, and despite having the combined magical power of the Princesses in his staff, he's easily thwarted by the good guys.
lol
  • When Doug Walker retired The Nostalgia Critic after four years of internet fame in order to pursue a show that he'd been dreaming of doing for ages, the fan-base was split to say the least, with some enjoying it some thinking it wasn't as good as the Nostalgia Critic and others disliking it entirely. This divide ended up cutting into the show's profits and resulted in the return of the Critic, much to the dismay of Doug Walker himself, who loved Demo Reel, and wanted to focus on that project of his dreams; instead having to torch the thing and bring back the character everybody else wanted.
LOL!
