Also working in favor of The Crown is that it'll have a long shelf life. Even when Elizabeth dies, people will still be interested in stories about her. 15 years from now you'll be able to pinpoint exactly when Sense8 was produced and kids will laugh at it.

I agree, though I wouldn't recommend LGBTQQ porn to kids.

The Simpsons actually used to have some Republican writers on it back in the day, most famously John Swartzwelder.
That sucks, because, politics aside (and going off-topic), John Swartzwelder did some really memorable/funny episodes: the one where Mr. Burns runs for governor and spits out the three-eyed fish Bart and Lisa found near his nuclear plant, the very first Treehouse of Horror episode [just the story of The Simpsons moving into a haunted house that ends up killing itself rather than haunt The Simpsons], the Whacking Day episode, the one where Mr. Burns loses his teddy bear Bobo, the Stonecutters episode -- heck, even the episode where Bart wins Stampy the elephant in a radio contest (back then, a lot of Simpsons fans thought it was too wacky and unrealistic).

There's a full list here.

The page image for unfortunate implications. I don't know why people saw a black man and thought of a primate but I guess they are more progressive than us.
pff almost like people that search for outrage are secretly racist and can't understand that just because they see a black man and go "omg he's an evil ape thing" doesn't mean everyone else does too.

It's like comic books are fictional or something. I mean we can accept a man who can fly and shoot lasers from his eyes but not unrealistic representation of insanity demographics.

Sure, the pose that the guy is in looks similar, down to facial expression, but notice that the woman is standing and having a lovely time if her smile is anything to go by and the club is replaced with a basketball. An argument can be made that the guy making the cover and taking the photo never saw that particular propaganda poster, and just framed the shot in a way that was pleasing to the eye. Also, Vogue exists to sell shit like all magazines.

There, I've just made three clever arguments for why this Vogue cover isn't secretly racist or even unfortunately implicating implications. Maybe if we all stop kneejerking to shit that seems slightly negative, well, the outrage machine would stop spinning.

The whole Unfortunate Implications trope is about overanalyzing things to claim they're offensive, anyway.
There used to be an Unfortunate Implications entry on the YMMV page for Johnny Bravo in which they claimed some episode involving giant cockroaches was somehow offensive to Mexicans (because "roach" is apparently a racial slur against Hispanics).

It's not there anymore, but it was one of the dumbest things I'd ever seen on the website.

I remember that. That was perhaps in the top five of the dumbest things that have ever been on the site.

(For reference, the episode involved Johnny going into the future, and among other things, giant roaches coexist with humans. I have no idea what the hell the unfortunate implications were.)

Another dumb one... I believe back when the Unfortunate Implications trope still had examples, there was one talking about how MST3K's take on Mr. B Natural supposedly reads as incredibly transphobic.
