My bet is that most of the mods are lazy aspie fucks who barely get involved in trope naming and as a result never set some guidelines that would have prevented the names of many tropes to be decided by battalions of spergs edit-warring to the death.

What is it with SANIC that attracts so many tards ? I don't get it, seriously the last unambiguously good Sonic game was released twenty years ago. The various cartoons are more of less complete shit, and Sonic is a successful character with a girlfriend, so it's not like they can even identify with him.

Unless they're all furries of course.

Sonic actually is a walking sperglord honeypot when you get down to it. He's a colorful action dude who is 2kool4skool. He's fast, confident, and wise-allecky. Sonic takes on that dastardly Ro-BUTT-nick with a smirk on his face and a joke on his lips. He's the perfect power fantasy for autists who wish they could be that cool.

More than that, he inhabits a weird sci fi universe filledwith equally colorful characters so inserting your OC is no trouble at all.

I thought it had a lot to do with the gameplay of the Sonic games, which is fairly basic, even for a platformer. This makes it appeal more to people who like simple, repetitive things. Something like Zelda gets fewer spergs because it's harder to play.

Zelda actually has fuckloads of spergs

Zelda spergs resemble Zelda chickens. They're hilarious witless beings that flap and flail about to the amusement of others. The difference is people are afraid to poke chickens to incite them into further flailing.

My estimates on the dosage of autism necessary to kill a man is waaaaaaaaaaaaay off.

Not as many as Sonic, though.

There's quite a bit of overlap but Sonic definitely has more spergs. I think a big part of it is Sonic's media plays up cheesy tween romance quite a bit. This allows autists to project their romantic fantasies into the franchise. Zelda doesn't really have this. Romance plays a part but it's much more understated. Mostly because barring three exceptions in the franchise's nearly thirty year history Link never fucking talks.

It says a lot about autists that they project their romantic fantasies more onto creatures that aren't even human.

A character getting prejudiced for the way they look and getting screwed over despite doing everything right hit pretty close to home for me compared to the bland, blatant Wish FulfillmentKarma Houdini character Mako was for the first season I should be projecting onto as a (reasonably) straight man.

I like how in that last part, he troped himself as being Ambiguously Bi; the "my sexuality is ambiguous" snowflake ride never ends.

He's straight, but he could go gay in the vain hope of finding someone - anyone - who'd sleep with him.
