They also have a "Dethroning Moments" page on Cracked for awful articles, never mind that they could probably save time by just writing "everything written later than about 2013". To be fair, a good portion of the articles there actually are really shitty. Hell, we've mocked most of them on this site before.

And then you get to the bronies.
  • Floweramon: 4 Insane Pieces of 'My Little Pony' Fan Art. This article is basically nothing but uninformed opinions and obvious bias. Three of the things listed aren't fanart, they're fanfiction, and one of them is Fallout: Equestria. It says the story contains graphic rape (it doesn't) and doesn't really analyze why it deserves to be on the list aside from "It's My Little Pony with death, sex, and a nuclear apocalypse and it's horrible!" The other things are porn (oh gee, like no other fandom has fan porn), specific fetish fanfiction (again, not MLP specific), and a gorey fanfic. Honestly, the entire thing feels like they didn't fully look into/for actual insane fanart/fiction and just wanted rag on MLP.

What a stupid page. These idiots already have dedicated meme-wank pages, so why does this need to exist? It's literally just listing memes from popular things. Shouldn't it be about things that notably gained a following that they wouldn't have otherwise due to memes instead of things that have widespread memes (for which they already use a completely different page, by the way).
There's one or two entries that are on point but not enough to justify this thing. Just memes for the sake of memes.

I guess they don't fail at being shitty memelords, at least.

Agreed. There's a difference between being taught morals (since they can be helpful if used properly), then there's sperging out over things horses and locomotives learned on this or that kiddy show.

Apparently according to TVTropes YMMV page on Doug, the Nostalgia Critic admitted in one of his videos to being trans.

Is that true, or just more SJW bs headcanons coming from tumblrina tropers? Then again, seeing how Doug panders to them nowadays, it wouldn't surprise if he added that in his sketches...

He was a guest at my local comic con last year, and if he was a tranny, he certainly didn't look like it.

I can't find anything on the Doug Walker YMMV page, and on the NC YMMV page there's mention of fanon of the character being trans/genderqueer, not that the character mentions it himself.

Real talk, the Dethroning Moment of Suck pages are largely why I stopped going to TV Tropes. Those pages are just unbridled autism and a lot of the tropers writing them seem to have a stick up their ass. Tropers have an awful habit of taking everything too seriously, but nowhere is it more evident than those Dethroning pages.

Seriously, a lot of those guys need to chill the fuck out.

Too lazy to look through the 120 pages to see if anyone else has mentioned it, but they refuse to let Assigned Male be put on their Horrible Webcomics list. They even made a note about how you're "not allowed" to include it because it has a fanbase, as if having a fanbase somehow means your webcomic is quality.

Meanwhile, Billy the Heretic (a shitty neo-nazi webcomic) is on there, even though it has a large fanbase as well.

Probably because Nazis are considered "Acceptable Targets" to tropers.

Also the "fanbase" thing is the lamest excuse I ever heard. Everything has a fanbase in some form or another. Ctrl-Alt-Del had a fanbase and those comics are notoriously horrible (side note, the TV Tropes Facebook page occasionally likes to post them for some reason).

There used to be an entire section called "wall bangers" where people would rant endlessly about anything they didn't like in a show, whether the criticism was warranted or just autistic screeching about Teen Titans Go.

It helped contain the autistic screaming for a while, but eventually they deleted them, as the staff viewed them as sources of complaining rather than containments for such things. People started leaking even more into the Dethroning Moment of Suck pages as a result.
