Apparently, the easiest way to piss off the userbase is to downvote their TLP drafts and never explain yourself. It got to the point where Kory did an hotfix that shows who voted on what. But I think that it might have something to do with WarJay being in a privileged position , so he gets to bitch about stuff that most of us will just laugh off

I use to scroll up TVtropes what's very stupid about that website is their utter redundancy of categorizing tropes. You will go through a story or character page and six of the tropes basically describe the same thing but with a different name and emphasize that it's different than linking to its page just references the other thing it's a carbon copy of.

The Whateley Academy saga literally was meant to be a "What if the X-Men were trans?" fanfic. By the time the original group finished tweaking the worldbuilding and started writing, "superpowered mutants" is one of the few concepts that survived. Somehow, some of the early stories and characters are beloved, even though the writing could be clunky (Maybe it was average for c. 2000s fan fiction? This behemoth has been going for 20 years.)

Some of the writers have left and/or experienced critical existence failure, which has greatly delayed finishing the original story line. Every new writer added to the story group has brought in one or more new characters of their own as part of the audition.

How there are still tropes not found in a capepunk kitchen sink work that's pushing 16 million words, I have no idea.
