Every couple of years the mods attain self awareness and try to fix the rot that's killing the site, such as the userbase being full of mentally ill fuckos that can't differentiate fiction and reality but it rarely takes. Honestly, there's so much concurrent drama with TVT at the point that I can barely keep up. But we're all in agreement that the main problem is that the trannies keep injecting themselves into every trope and media page they can find and the forums keep spilling out into the articles.

You know, an significant portion of the drama can be solved by getting rid of any mention of fanfiction. Along with scaring off the troons and diehard autists

The site has always been like this. Even before the "improvements". Most simply haven't bothered to look or can no longer dig that deep. It tries to insist that it's a reliable aggregate of cliches and tropes, but it's just an overglorified blog.

Well, I wouldn't really like that since tvtropes is one of the few good places to actually find good fanfiction. The fact it takes it seriously is a problem in some ways but it's nice if you're really into fanfiction. Some fanworks having their own huge and autistically detailed pages just like professional works is kind of cool.

I know this is from like two weeks ago, but The When Harry Met Sally example is bizarre. Its a funny scene, but the joke is a. that its wildly inappropriate for a woman to fake a full on screaming orgasm in the middle of a diner, and b. the response of an older woman, "I'll have whatever she's having". If you just watch the scene, clearly the random people in the restaurant are fucking mortified.

The whole point of the scene is the two arguing if Harry would know if a woman faked it with him or not. Him screaming about nutting would be fucking retarded in the context of the scene. The only approval is from one old lady, and its clearly meant to be a joke. This isn't lauding female sexuality.

For whatever reason so many people shit on it, for all the dumbest reasons. It's a good movie. Probably the best romcom I've ever watched.

The retard(s) that wrote that entry are textbook definitions of why all mainstream movies have marvel comics levels of (lack of) plot complexity/nuance now, besides the fact that the writers are also hacks. There are actually a great share of people that cannot comprehend the simplest social cue scenario without it being spelled out with Joss Whedon stylized sardonicism. And you get fuckwits that watch that scene and take exactly the opposite away from it.
 
They pull off omega cope to pretend Yellowstone is not woke as hell, when it ends with native Americans destroying the evil wypipo's house and the abusive girl boss cunt sister murdering her brother to applause.
