Reading a bit of it, the main issue people seem to have (but won't come right out and say or explain) is the "Thief" part for some reason. Going by all the "+1 rename thief only" type opinions. I still don't understand what they hoped to accomplish with this in the first place, but even less so now. (Why is thief causing so much problem?) The whole trend to rename specifically defined and understood terms in the name of technical stupidity or other even more retarded reasons is tiring and a waste of time. In the best of cases. At worst it makes everything more confusing and ridiculous.

Retards too hung up on the name and the idea of making tropes media-agnostic to consider the fact that “thief” is a perfectly serviceable term for describing the average speed and dexterity class. Of course, fighter's usage to describe strong and sturdy warrior types is mostly a DnD invention as well, so you see some people proposing a complete rename because apparently fighter and thief are too vague.

It reminds them of black people, similarly to the word "monkey".

Wait, THAT is the reason... For some reason I was totally not in that frame of mind.. JFC

Retarded is exactly what it is. Ruining what works and is widely understood, in the name of technical perfection. (and that's being charitable here with the reasoning)

I've played the occasional JRPG and for some reason, nearly every character that I've seen who fits the rogue/thief bit is literally an (reformed) thief

It's a shame that I had to find about her death this way...
We share the same thought. I was looking at dumb shit to post here, saw that and said "wait what?", then I saw the page they have of her, and after that, the tweet from her son announcing her death.

I know. Dang it, she was one of my favorites from the older VA generation as well.

On a different note (hope I'm not being disrespectful by posting this after), TV Tropes users aren't happy about The Acolyte being canceled.

this reminds me of how internet individuals tend to boil kanji tatsumi's arc in persona 4 down to undeniable proof he is a gay when it's mainly just about how having more traditionally feminine hobbies doesn't inherently make you a homo. they also do this same thing for naoto to prove she's somehow a tranny and the only thing it certainly proves is none of these idiots played the damn games
