For those that want to see more troper feminist autism.
That opening is all over the place. Both women and men are happy to watch men's shows, but women's shows cater only to women, therefore sexism? Men's shows focus on action and mystery and other things that appeal to everyone, while women's shows focus on relationships and drama that half the population couldn't care less about so this means people are sexist against women? Men don't care if they play as a guy or a girl in video games, but women do, and somehow this is also proof that everyone is sexist against women?

This is not something I had ever thought about before, but now I think about it I think I have a simpler fix - people need to stop paying attention to women when they are on the rag because they bitch about everything.

I've actually seen Coconut Fred and Popples, and can verify that people could hate them. Popples was just the same plot repeated each episode, while Coconut Fred was SpongeBob if the people who wrote it do drugs.

Go down to entry number 13 on this page. Why would there be a scene like that in a Pixar movie?

Joke shout out to more infamous animated movies that had rapping and ocean settings, like the Titanic animated movies?

Stronger drugs, you mean.

yeah I'm calling bullshit on like half of this

Same here, but I actually heard about Chuck Jones hating his pre-1948 Looney Tunes work in a documentary (Chuck Jones' Extreme and In-Betweens) and Billy West not wanting to work with John Kricfalusi anymore is pretty much common knowledge for anyone who knows about the backstage drama of the original Ren and Stimpy series (I'm taking the whole thing about "Ren Seeks Help" on Adult Party cartoon with a grain of salt, since that entry sounds like something Mr. Enter would come up with to make it look like John K. hated it, when really it's just Mr. Enter projecting his hatred for it).

If anything, the problem with that page looks to be that half of the entries aren't even valid examples, since they're just talking about stuff that isn't aired any more because it wasn't popular. That doesn't prove anything one way or the other as to whether or not the people who made or commissioned it are ashamed of doing so; they could just as easily think it's a work of genius, but also be smart enough to realise that it just didn't catch on.

Everyone who stayed behind to work at Games Animation will not have much good to say about John K., and for good reason.

John K. admittedly has his problems with APC and looks back on it as sort of an old shame - he alleges that the network wanted him to go more over-the-top with it (somehow I don't believe him).

I find it hilarious that spergs have temper tantrums about it when it only lasted like five fucking episodes - you guys "won"!

Have you noticed how often tropers would use the expression "It doesn't help that..." when adding a second line to an entry??

Has there ever been a successful creator who could credit TVTropes for helping them improve in their skills?

I don't think it ever was a thing...to anyone who isn't a fanboy/fangirl. And no, I've never heard or seen anyone reference it like an encyclopedia, at least not in serious works.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, TVTropes is a catalogue, not a reference manual. The only way it can be described as an encyclopedia is that it sometimes compares itself to Wikipedia, which does call itself an encyclopedia.

You just know this community is autistic as fuck when its members use fucking Dobson to illustrate their tropes.

To their credit, that's pretty much how the site admins and saner portion of their userbase have reacted whenever someone comes along and asks "Hey, think its a good idea to cite TVTropes in my college paper?"

Why would you even try to illustrate a trope that's about a tone of voice anyway? That's not exactly the sort of thing that comes across well in a picture. Hell, the one above looks more like an angry "what" than a flat one.
