Also, I recently got into the show Bojack Horseman. Just for the hell of it, I decided to check the TV Tropes page. Haven't really browsed many of the subpages except the characters one. And god almighty is that an autism cesspit. I guess that's to be expected of a fandom of a show about furries though. The show's "characters" subpage has TWENTY-SIX ADDITIONAL SUBPAGES!

Every character is chronicled, and I do mean every character. There's one episode where a character tells a couple of shitty jokes that go nowhere. The characters in said jokes have a subpage. They don't actually exist within the show's universe, and are never represented visually...yet they have their own subpage. Another episode has a gag referencing the movie Her (the one where the guy falls in love with his cellphone's A.I.) in which two characters' phones talk and fall in love. The phones have a character entry somewhere amongst the bajillion subpages. Even an audiobook that Bojack listens to for an episode or two in the second season is considered a character.

If there's anything positive I can say about this, it's that the show has inspired a dedicated fanbase that's passionate about it. And that's good, because it is a genuinely good show. But there's such a thing as being too thorough. This, my friends, is MUCH too thorough. It's thorough to the point of alienating regular non-aspies who just might happen to want to learn more about the show's characters without having to sift through entries of every single fucking one in the show.

They also have a joke page for Horsin' Around.
 
I noticed there has been a big purge in the "creator" pages that focus on real-life people. Many used to have tropes applied to them as if they were fictional characters; yeah it was kinda silly, but don't you think it was a fun way to learn some stuff about them?

Now you might as well read their Wikipedia page; congrats, Tropers!

Implying it is TVT's job to educate you.

"Tropes" simply should not be applied to real life occurrences and people, because real life does not follow the pre-determined plan of some "author".

At most, I could understand tropes named for the actor in question, and tropes common to their body of work ("Actor A usually uses plays a B trope type of character", "Director C often has D trope theme in his movies" ).

You have no idea how often I've seen tropers try to argue the opposite, not necessarily there being an author, but that people follow tropes as if it were.
