Really, Tropers are extremely intellectually lazy and incurious. The reviews of actual literary classics display such profound ignorance that you have to wonder if they were in sped classes throughout high school.

They think Brave New World's society is a good idea , for example.

You know, the dystopia where most of society are cloned, brainwashed serfs kept placid by drugs and mind-numbing propaganda.

the first page alone looks like mostly sensible people shooting down a self-proclaimed "militant stoner" who's the only one defending BNW's society, though

Either sped, or their schools have really shitty curriculums. Or maybe even both. Who's to say?
 
Ah, TV Tropes. I once used it to find writing advice (like avoiding writing a Mary Sue, for example) and I only have an account there to look past spoilers. I always avoided the forums because I know there are many batshit people in there and I thought the mods won't let any criticism of said batshitness fly. That being said, are they still defending pedos?
 
I know a lot of people who frequently look up tropes on the site for various reasons. I actually wasn't aware that they had much of a community, I kind of thought that they had small groups who talked about tropes and what shows use what tropes in Skype or something, then posted and edited the pages on the site based on the results of their discussions.

Yeah, they do. And it's one of the worse ones.

I'd advise you read through the thread a bit.

you can tell this was written in 2012 because it assumes that dubstep is still relevant.

I wonder what it's like to live so distanced from reality.
