So, the mods had basically used an certain proofreading thread as an probationary requirement for the people that's got on their radar, at some point. Normally, it runs itself; but with the old guard either losing interest with the site or getting banned through attrition, there's only two or three people who are volunteering their time towards it.
Lately, some autist is pissed at the mere possibility that she's getting ignored. But since this is TVT, she's obviously being ignored out of malice.
It's honestly pathetic in how obsessed they are at sticking their ideology into literally every piece of media. It's like they're unable to enjoy something unless it A) Says something "meaningful," and B) Reinforces their biases and ideologies. Therefore, they have to insert their beliefs into a show about goblin murder, because having it "just" be about goblin murder would be in some way "childish" and therefore "a waste of time." It's like when a teenager becomes obsessed with guns, swearing, and boobs to prove how "mature" he is, except with Marxism.
For a real-world contrast since we're bringing in real-world politics: in medieval England a peasant working a field was owed protection by the local lord, so it wouldn't rise to the occasion of having to hire mercenaries to protect those working the land.
You know, it was a tiny bit like communism except not gay and retarded so it worked.

A lot of them just come out of nowhere with it too. You can just be on the forums and then some cunt gets all smug and patronizing with you, but if you say anything, your post gets thumped. I saw a guy get on some dudes case because he was replying to too many reviews as if that's against the rules.
Just one of those things that happens when your website is a playground for autists with no people skills.
I swear there's some weird collection of fics and settings that TV Tropes is just OBSESSED with and constantly reference in articles that have nothing to do with them, there's that stupid edgy Sonic fanfic, Whatley Universe, almost every mlp fanfic under the sun, a few Evangelion fics, The Infinite Loops (which I SWEAR does not have any sort of fandom outside TV Tropes) aaand Child of The Storm, which I gotta say is probably the most surprising because doesn't the woke crowd still hate JKR? It's gotta be the authors themselves editing these and bringing them up everywhere, right?
I don't know who made the Loud House, but I feel so sorry for them, because imagine getting your cartoon on Nick and it not getting cancelled after 1 season, but its entire fandom is quietly hijacked by incest fetishists who coomed from the mere premise of one boy living with a ton of sisters.
I think you're right about this; there's a few fics I've seen get recommended on TVTropes that had pages very clearly written by either the author or some rather dedicated fans. Fairly obvious when that's the case, actually; the pages tend to ignore the negatives in the fic in favor of the positives, for the most part. Some sperging, but one fanfic page is outright doing nothing but praising a fanfic even though said fic is hilariously shit; it's obvious to the point where you think the TVTropes mods would do something about it, and yet they don't. Admittedly, it's probably because it's supposed to be a "deconstruction" fic, but...
It's like the whole site is a wellspring of autism...
You would be surprised how prominently they tend to reference ratshit levels of fan works, and much of the time, it's the authors themselves who post there to promote their bullshit.
In regards to the child of the storm, you can chalk it up to laziness, or the author simply "distancing themselves" from Rowling. They don't bother editing it out much, but now, they can't seem to stop mentioning "Joanne" since she started to be more open about her views regarding men wearing dresses.
They also have a bad habit of making fan fiction sounding better than they really are. I found this out the hard way when one was a; you guessed it, deconstruction. How was it? It was about Naruto (expect high levels of retardation), and it was just one single page. Rather than dissecting some of the manga's actual flaws, you could easily mistake it as something you can find on reddit, posted on something like r/Naruto was shit. That's one of the site's biggest issues - making something sound like it's a big deal or eloquent when it really isn't. Like the aforementioned infinite loops. It's so obscure that it's hardly prolific, even in the site itself.
@Gorillion others: As someone who's actually read through a pretty solid chunk of the Infinite Loops stories, I can safely confirm; the vast majority of them are basically just designed to turn canon characters into Mary Sues. It's beyond stupid how some of the shit goes in the series, i.e., the MLP loops all being this happy little sugerbowl that's capable of casually fixing damn near every single issue in the loops - yes, including Warhammer 40K - and the JoJo loops having their Stands be hilariously broken in terms of power. Even normal, basic characters often get the ability to casually warp reality after a few stories, and it kinda gets to the point where... the stories themselves just really aren't all that fun to actually read, because there's basically no conflict.
I mean, having a story that's basically just relaxing fun times can be fun, but... sooner or later, something's got to actually happen. This isn't like One-Punch Man, where a pretty good chunk of the humor is watching the MC basically just try and find someone capable of giving him a good fight; this is basically "Playground Logic: The Fic", where a bunch of kids come up with a shit ton of "everything-proof shields" and "weapons of infinity attack power" and other insane shit and expect people to take it dead seriously.
Actually, fun fact: that "Aimless" Spyro fanfic I mentioned was actually inspired by the Infinite Loops. The Silent Insomniac actually mentioned a few times that a vast majority of his fic was inspired by the Spyro the Dragon loops; more specifically, the Spyro loops were actually - you guessed it - a deconstruction story, aiming at "deconstructing" some of the fandom-specific cliches in the community. If you're wondering; yes, I am fairly certain the author of the Spyro loops was, in fact, a TVTropes user. Anyways, the Spyro loops were divided into two parts; the Classic loops, following the Classic version of Spyro through the OG game through Shadow Legacy, and the Legend loops, following the Legend version of Spyro through that trilogy. The Classic loops were for classic "looper shenanigans"/Mary Sue bullshit, while the Legends loops were for the actual deconstruction stuff.
I will admit; the story was decent; the Classic Spyro stuff was insufferable - like I said, classic Mary Sue bullshit - but the Legends half of the story had some decent stuff, often poking fun at some of the cliches the Spyro fandom relied on and such, as well as pointing out how repeating a war over and over wouldn't really be good for someone's psyche. Overall, the Legend half was a pretty solid story overall; if the author had bothered to focus on it a bit more instead of writing the same Mary Sue shit the rest of the loop authors did, then it honestly could have been really interesting. That said, there was definitely some pretentious shit in there as well; the author trying to act like his story was "super different" compared to other fanfic authors, as well as putting arbitrary restrictions on Legend Spyro's powers while allowing Classic to have everything.
That part got notable, as the story's issues came to a head when the two loops actually crossed over, with the two versions of Spyro meeting one another; Classic spent the entire time being an insufferable smartass, while Legend was basically just trying to figure out what was going on. It actually did result in a fight; naturally, Classic was able get some cheap shots in, until Legend actually started fighting back, at which point other characters immediately intervened to prevent Classic from getting merc'd. Symbolized a lot of the crap that was wrong with the fic, actually; Classic became the general kind of Mary Sue twat the rest of the loop stories were infamous for, while Legend was (mostly) used for deconstruction shit, and the story often got wrapped up in its own ass trying to be both "deep" and lighthearted, being unable to keep a consistent tone.
I'm keeping an eye on the Hazbin Hotel page. It's still "new" so alot of the negative tropes don't qualify just yet, so right now it's just as circlejerk where all the controversial opinions are being covered up. A huge edit war just waiting to happen.
