TVT intentionally misses the gimmick of Muhammad Hassan.

Hassan was not a heel because he was a victim of discrimination. He was a heel because he himself was a colossal racist douchebag who would continually attack the fans and other wrestlers as irredeemably prejudiced against him based on little to no evidence. That's what made him a heel. He was a hypocrite and an asshole.

It's the same thing with the Nation. They were not heels because they were the victims of discrimination- they were heels because they were bigoted hypocrites. It goes all the way back to the Gangstas in SMW. The idea of the hypocritical heel who claims to be the victim of societal prejudice while spewing all kind of bigotry himself is not new.

Predictably, TVT ignores the actual nuance behind Hassan's gimmick, because there cannot be any ambiguity when it comes to matters of muh racism (blasphemy against the website religion).

I mean, maybe I'm an idiot, but if someone honestly held this philosophy, why the fuck wouldn't they just do a flip, ASAP? Life is an aberration and a nightmare, why put off death if you think its objectively better? Its not like you could have a religious prohibition against suicide when you're this much of a nihilistic retard.

You're right about the nuance. That entry is 100% whitewashing that the character was a hypocite that literally had terrorist connections that he used to attack other wrestlers. But I think what they're getting at is that the level of nuclear heat Hassan generated was due largely to the fact that the audience thought he was a muslim dude. So like there was racism at play, but they picked the wrong character to champion.
