I'm not surprised that TV Tropes has such extensive pages on newspaper comics, as autistic as cataloguing them is.

I shouldn't be surprised that the Values Dissonance section is so lengthy for a work that's almost 35 years old, and yet...

I love that a boss with a noose on his desk is somehow taken seriously and not as an amusing sight gag.

The woke stuff is stupid, but the one that makes me roll my eyes the most is the one about siblings beating each other up for being annoying being considered problematic.

Also, saying a boy being turned into a girl against his will (in a dream, but still) and hating it is insensitive?

From YMMV on Pizza Tower. Didn't this thing just come out?
.... Wait... there are no trans characters in Celeste. The fuck are these people smoking?

Does the YMMV page in general even really need to exist?
Honestly often the YMMV page is the only part I even read. Audience reactions (or at least, one person's review masquerading as such) are way more interesting than listing the fact that swords are sharp or one of the characters has blue hair. The only time I ever look at the main tropes page is if I'm looking for a specific piece of information.

Apparently this is from the end of the game:

Took me awhile to even spot the flags. It was like finding Waldo.

That said, she has a grayscale version, so you could just as easily argue that these are props in a Rainbow Brite-based wargame she's developing (the grayscale flag is for Murky's side). Or she just likes colorful things. Hell I remember at times having rainbow-themed decorations in the 1990s back when I didn't even know what "pride flags" were.

This is one of my issues with Tv tropes. At first not having to cite facts for the sake of "fun" sounds cute and all.

But then you quickly realize tropers just abuse this to outright lie for a personal agenda.

It can be something as stupid as saying that the "vast majority" of fans hate the characters they happen to hate or that "all fans" endorse their ships or headcanons . Which is always BS.

To something outright malicious like promoting their politics. They lie about characters being gay, or trans all the time. They also love to twist the message, or facts of a show to be more woke than they ever were.

And good luck fixing that without getting banned for "edit wars" and wasting hours of your life with a bunch of people that have no life whatsoever doing their best to make your life miserable.

That's why most people just don't bother.

Fuck yes this is true, ESPECIALLY on YMMV. The amount of times I've seen some variation of "X seems to be Faggot/Tranny/Mentally Ill coded" for something 30+ years old. It's infuriating, nobody in 1975 was trying to hint that the cowboy hero was a huge cocksucker. Stop projecting.

Nightmare Fuel used to be an pretty fun read.

Anti-NFT tards believed that it takes a whole small country's power supply to make one. I'm dead serious.
I think this all stemmed from some article proclaiming that every single blockchain activity i.e. the production of cryptocurrency, the 'minting' of NFTs, etc all contributed to a net energy waste greater than several smaller countries but just.. where did these numbers come from? Who's capable of tracking exactly what computation is being done with a blockchain algorithm and exactly how much energy that's costing? The whole idea is just so blatantly stupid but people parroted it anyway because they wanted another random enemy to fight and feel righteous.

The editor is probably just referring to themselves and will not admit it. I feel like that's the case for a lot of of the edits for the YMMV a editors just projecting what they believe and pretending that's what most of the fandom believes.
I know from experience that that is 100% the case. That's just most edits on TVT, a vague allusion to a "reviewer" or a "journalist" that doesn't exist.
