...Not the putting on your sister's panties part, right?
Well I didn't mean that but since you asked...

Jk. I don't have a sister

Tropers Jerk Each Other Off
"
  • The description of the Ninja Scroll entry on the Last Kiss trope: "In the cold universe of the film, where lust, violence and greed has cheapened sex as an expression of love, Kagero's simple kiss for Jubei was an expression of love stronger than any other." Doubles as a Tear Jerker given that Kagero dies shortly after."
Pt. 2, Electric Boogaloo

And finally.

Animeking1108 is editing the Persona 4 page again, this time ranting about how badly it treats the "ugly" characters

come on man

(sorry for the double post guys)

from the Edit Banned thread. Apparently some people were having a serious conversation and this guy goes in roleplaying a jerkass character, gets banned, and then cries that it's unfair because he isn't the Jerkass, the character is.

Do anyone else know the "Pantheon" section of TVT? It's full of awful fanwanking and weird crossover fanfictions, and from what I can see it's one of the biggest autism magnets. And from there you may stumble onto the page where you can also see their denial of Chris. Speaking of their denial, it's pretty funny actually since they're actually on the same level as him. They're just futilely denying. Hell, I keep getting reminded of Chris's notable typing habits with the way they capitalize the first letter of every single trope name that they type.

TV Tropes is like the galapagos islands for lolcows. It's a very insular website and community so the cows there are more open with embarassing shit.

See also, Major Tom the weeaboo army washout

Oh yes, Major Tommy. If you did read SomethingAwful's "Anime is the tie that binds" (A collection of posts from SA members mocking a troper's animu work, you could read it on page 22 of this thread), you would have known about him. Basically, Tom has this EPIC trilogy of books called Eternal Conflict (Which he hasn't finished), which is about two stupid factions whacking each other in a massive war, with our main characters caught up on it. Here's a little post from Tom about his "World-building":

"I edited a little detail concerning World building in my book. Chiefly instead of the Parmagrass M-Tech carrying a 105mm anti-armor particle cannon embedded in heavy kite shield that makes up what would be the right arm, I upgraded it to a 200mm.

Which means the Buster Rifle introduced later (Which was originally a 200mm weapon) is going with my alternate plan of being a 600mm weapon.

Hey, the Mechas are 5 meters tall and ridiculously well armed to in part compensate for how expensive (and possibly impractical) they are to say main battle tanks. So why not give them incredibly beefy guns capable of shredding tanks or even starships? (The Buster rifle is capable of piercing a destroyer's armor in space at a full charge with a well placed hit. The second books counterpart the Buster Rail is similar in practice.)"

So much autism over changing a fictional weapon's caliber.

I have every intention of spending Valentine's Day (if things don't improve with the woman) reading and recording the new posts on the various B'aww and romance threads on tvtropes. The tears will be delicious.

  • The scene pictured at the top occurs when, to prove that the Griffins love Brian, Stewie takes his collar to a bar and burns the bar down while a stray dog wearing the collar is inside. The firefighters are led to believe that the stray's burnt corpse was Brian thanks to the collar and give the news to the Griffins. Though the viewer knows that Brian is perfectly fine, it's still heart-wrenching to see the family's reactions.

How the hell do you find this heartwarming?

Something I'm sharing because I'm sure I've heard people speak of having this kind of thing before. This is NOT about mental illness or actually "hearing voices" this is about subconsciously ascribing some of your own character traits to one character or another.

It happens often with writers and their own characters. Our characters talk back to us at a certain point... we get into building a world long enough or are concentrated enough on it, sometimes our characters will be little upstarts and actually tell us what to do with them.

But what about if some of your own personal inner voices actually take on a geeky flavor and start "speaking" to you as some of your favorite, existing, not-your-own characters?

I was really hit with this last night. I was mulling over some original writing ideas of mine and I was worried about potentially offending some people with some of my ideas (even though they're pretty innocuous, actually, but my brain is like that). That's when Dark Pit from Kid Icarus: Uprisingappeared in my brain-space and told me that, in expressing myself and being myself, I really shouldn't give a shit about what other people think. He's the kind of character who is fiercely himself and doesn't give a shit. He serves himself. He loves freedom. He was telling me to do the same.

I tend to get Vash the Stampede's voice and image in my mind when I am under a dilemma where I need to be reminded of taking a peaceful solution. He's also used his line "I disapprove of suicide more than anything" on me a few times, but mostly, he's there when I need to chill and need to pursue Love and Peace. He also shows up whenever there are donuts in the house.

Link... doesn't have much of a voice... "Hiyaaa?" but I think of him / his image comes to me during times when I need courage.

Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone else have a Herman's Headfull of geeky fictional characters making commentary on their life/being there for inside-brain-conversations, or am I both nuts and alone?

When you spend so much time on video games and anime that the characters come to life in your head.

Tropers share their favorite lines from their own writings
