This. They are just mad that it's not another postmodernist deconstruction. Also, it's not one of the franchises they consoom.

I honestly thought Disney was over furry crap and they only produced Star Wars, the MCU, and the occasional "original" animation movie.
The movie married Gadget to Zipper and they have a fuckton of half-fly/half-mouse babies. You can probably imagine the meltdowns from the Chip/Gadget shippers.

:story: I now imagine those babies looking like some sort of Cronenberg-esque nightmare.

I don't know if I can put a finger on it, but it really feels like the TV Tropes users have some sort of contempt towards the film. And not just because of how little its thread is populated compared to things like the Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers film and the upcoming Thor film.

Like, they are comparing it to Star Wars in a negative way, alongside mocking its usage of nostalgia, to the point of saying that the writers were masturbating over other properties. If someone can explain why they are acting so smug and overly nitpicky about this film, along with criticizing this film for only working when you turn your brain off, when I hardly see them do it for other films, I'd be more than happy.
This guy obviously doesn't like the US but thinks it's unrealistic the US bombs countries we aren't at war with? Has he been asleep the past 15 years to not remember all the drone strikes?

Imagine the more far removed TV Tropes users being actually in touch with reality. I know, it's quite a pipe dream.

I myself decided to ask them why they seemed to be acting so critical and smug about the film, and Fighteer had this to say in response.

Even here, when he says that he enjoyed it, he still has to include some sort of caveat.

Married with a kid, everyone.

Like, how is being filled with amazing real stunts, testosterone, celebration of America, and respect for the military supposed to be things you have to "ignore and not think about?" For that matter, why does the film only become enjoyable should you "shut down the limbic system?"

I hardly see this sort of criticism aimed at Marvel and Disney movies from them.

I'm still surprised you even had to ask them, knowing that TVT has some of the most stubborn people on the Internet.

The kid is adopted lmao
Absolutely not surprising.

I couldn't help myself. I went and checked but could find no comments by fighteer on RRR. (The trope page for it is like 5 entries.)

For those who don't know, it's Bollywood. I'm almost dying to see them react to it because it checks a lot of woke boxes (especially evil white men oppressing people) but look at this manliness and limbic system appealing action!

Why do you even waste your time on that fedora-tipping tardass?

That film looks so wonderfully absurd that it can only come from India.

Because they like Marvel and Disney movies, which I suspect is because these are Marvel and Disney movies. "It's mah favorite brand, it must be good."
