There are several entries on porn stuff, but they're stealth. IIRC the official position was that Porn with Plot was acceptable if the Plot is emphasized and the Porn is de-emphasized.

Also, they had purged out all the fetish/porn trope entries, which I believe was the reason of Geth's exile and subsequent schismatic splinter site. Hilarious in Hindsight, dare I say.

They'll focus on romance and stuff, or anything trope-able, really.

There used to be entries for really very disturbing pieces of fiction and, as you would expect, they were all troped in lovingly detail.

This is not Saló, the whole political commentary thing was a gigantic ass pull.

Arguably, so was the case with Saló.

Not only are Miloš and his family shown to be living in a rather large and ostentatious home which is pretty at odds with their supposed financial hardshipsnote , but the portrayal of Vukmir and his snuff film crew as a supposed allegory for government corruption in Serbia (with Miloš and his family representing the civilians abused under the system) is rather abstract and too much of a worst-case scenario for most non-Serbs to take seriously

The premise hit a little closer to home—both metaphorically and literally—in the film's own native Serbia (where the collapse of the socialist welfare state and numerous war crime convictions left the majority of government staff broke, forcing several of the country's most impoverished citizens into the sex industry as a means of income), though even there, it is still very much dependent on the viewer already harboring a great deal of resentment towards its government and the means to which many Serbs must resort in order to make ends meet in a post-war society.

I wouldn't go that far. It's blindingly clear from the Star Wars pages and their outright refusal to allow any criticism of the Sequels that TVT is run by the biggest slop consoomers around. Anyone who hates Acolyte, and I assure you there are more than a few, are basically harassed and banned on site. Insulting nuStar Wars is a cardinal sin for these people.

That KnownUnknown guy has been cranking out terrible opinions for years. As much as I avoid the forums, he's always around when I pop in. He's even taking the Disney stance: "The writing isn't bad, the problem is that YOU the FANS are ungrateful and want instant gratification!"

Dude, they are trying to make themselves look good to advertisers. Which is a losing battle since there are so many spergs there.
 
Since they have a lock on the US politics threads, tropers are totally barred from discussing the Trump event that happened today. Mods are clamping down to keep it quiet, which is pathetic.

The closest is in the General Politics Thread where some were thinking of discussing the attempt on Trump but was shot down rather quick.

Look on the bright side, at least it isn't a cacophony of "if only the shooter was a little better" or "Trump staged his own assassination to destroy our democracy!" or saying how the shooter is actually a maganazi like most leftist sites are. And at least they aren't adding to every media related to snipers and assassinations how this work is totally like the time Trump got shot, or trying to add "Trump is Palpatine" to the Revenge of the Sith page.

Even the jannies there know their userbase is so deranged they'd get the site shut down if allowed to unleash their full unhinged insanity. I love the idea of them trying to pretend Trump doesn't exist when he inevitably gets elected again thanks to this pathetic episode.

The mods seem weirdly powerless. When they aren't babysitting a website full of deranged manchildren, they're subject to the demands of the mob. Unless you're Fighteer who apparently gets unlimited leeway, you have to jump through hoops to get anything done.

As I've once said, this is the only site I've seen where its the users that act as moderators and the mods act as users.
