I once enjoyed TV Tropes, years ago, when it was still kind of an obscure thing compared to today. TV Tropes used to feel like reading a fun trivia of obscure terms for plot devices and stuff in media. I got completely sick of in in maybe 2011 because every page was an autistic mess.

I miss when I could read an entry for a page without a bunch of obviously wrong tropes jammed in, unnecessarily lengthening the page. It's like people intentionally put in a wrong trope that can only be tangentially justified, just to have a chance to contribute to the page of a show or movie they like. That, or they put in retardedly obvious things that don't need to be listed for any fucking reason as tropes (like, listing "pirates" or on a pirate movie, or listing "Christmas" on a Santa Claus movie--no fucking shit).

It used to be much worse though. Most of the open paedo shit like "innocent panties" and "rape is OK if" has been scrubbed off the site now, and has been for years. Now it's just autistic, not completely disgusting.

That's not even getting into the utter cesspit that was Troper Tales. Some of that stuff was so laughably nasty and strange that I assumed it was shitposting.

Never really read that stuff because it looked extremely boring and pointless. Can't imagine reading it, hate to imagine the crowd that would read that crap for entertainment.

The only ones I recall reading were the ones that went real far into Poe's Law level bullshit or erotic fan fiction-style crap. It was scourged from the site because if it wasn't that it was utter blog-level tripe. Nothing of value really lost.

The amount of attention that had gone into these pages is disturbing, but strangely fascinating. It takes a special kind of messed-up individual too obsessively watch some 60s anime or 50s B-movie and the main thing you take away from it is one quick shot where some 8 year old girl accidentally had her underpants exposed for the world to see. These girls could have been random kids who wanted to act and been in one movie and years later some pervert on the internet is writing a paragraph about the underwear they randomly put on one day before shooting a scene where their dress accidentally flipped up and got left in the final cut.

This entire page was written by people who have never known the touch of a woman.
A ton of the entries have screenshots too. People actually sought these out or created them themselves. That must be hard with only one available hand.

I believe the Rape is ok if pages still exist. They just changed the trope names to say Double Standard Rape: (the type of rape that was formerly labeled as okay) because they finally got it through their heads that it sounded like they were condoning rape with the old title.

Is there a page for that new Cuties movie on Netflix? And if there is, what is the discussion page like-

The yandere TT entries really got to me though

Yes there is, and they have this warning (but no discussion page yet):

But there is none on ATT because drama! On the Drunkard's Walk Discussion Board (thread), where official All The Tropes discussion is held, admin GethN7, who ran off the Farms some time ago, announced his resignation from All The Tropes Miraheze branch as founder and administrator (while still keeping his roles in the Wikia branch) over moral and political disagreements between himself and other admins on Netflix's Cuties having a page on the wiki (it was removed and protected against creation by Geth). The whole thing is a doozy.

In another thread, ATT admin Labster pushed the theory that QAnon was responsible for the outrage behind Cuties (...somehow) and accused GethN7 of being "radicalized" by QAnon.

The wording in some of the YMMV tropes is seriously worrying me.
And from the trivia page...

How many people does it take screaming at you before you go, "hm... maybe I'm wrong?"

TV Tropes is run by pedophilias change my mind.

That's...really odd.
I grew up watching Schneider sitcoms, and I can tell you that in those shows, the “nerd” characters, be they comic book fans, tech-savvy types, and everything in between, were consistently depicted as gangly poindexters whose misery was used as comedy whenever they were on screen. It’s autistic to hyper focus on that aspect to try to claim the shows are dated, but it was always a big thing.
Of course, none of that should distract from the fact that Dan Schneider was a creepy fat foot fetishist who liked to groom the teenage girls on the cast.

The purpose of most articles is to pay attention to what the fiction itself shows. His actions don't always need to be in focus (not that the community doesn't have horses to grind up at every mention of something, such as the DARKNESS of Warhammer 40,000).
