Curious: how would you guys improve the Pantheon short of deleting it entirely?

Cut it down to major players only, with minor "gods" appearing as supporr characters. Go Greek mythology, all we care about are the ones who are fucking awesome. Pick my favorite (Terra Branford from FF6) and write some awesome adventures.

There'd be less fanwank in my take on the Pantheon, as they would mostly be from classic literature, films and media. I'd pick characters who made those tropes popular and commonly-used in the first place (Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, etc) over insert husbando/waifu/fap material here to be used for masturbation shrines.

The Pantheon tales would be less fapfic and more actual well-written crossovers with meaningful interactions other than sharing the same seiyuu or traits or whatever. Characters will be written about as they are, without white knighting/whitewashing (looking at you, ChrisX).

It's funny, because we're actually more tolerant than TV Tropes. We have furries, trannys (excuse me, trans-folk), autists, at least one brony (@Jaiman), and a good chunk of them make it on this site just fine without endless ridicule, with the worst thing happening is a post being rated dumb and autistic, usually because the post IS dumb and autistic.
TV Tropes, on the other hand, LOVES dismissing, harassing, bullying, and banning anyone that doesn't fit their SJW echo chamber. Accepting, isn't it.
EDIT: for clarification, this was a response to @Kinkshamer's original post showing TV Tropes opinion on us.

Kiwi Farms clearly has a very diverse userbase, we all come from many backgrounds and our sole interest in joining is to laugh about internet dummies. It's pretty lame that SJWs generalize us as cis white men altrights.

Because anyone that disagrees with them must be exactly what they hate most.

People sperging about Kiwi Farms on the Trolling, Free Speech and the Law thread.

This is what @NARPASSWORD was replying to three posts up, but the formatting was fucking up, so I deleted it to see if I could start over.

I didn't screenshot the posts by ThePest179 that were deleted by the mods.

I'm pretty sure that the extent of our "anti-autism ableism" is to mock people for using their autism as an excuse for their retarded behavior and not even attempting to better themselves, and that the extent of our "horrific transphobic bigotry" is to use the word "tranny" and to think it's terrible that people want kids to transition before reaching puberty.

"we'll do you the favour of not mocking you once you're gone" I can only imagine what their idea of mocking someone is: "YOU'RE A TRANSPHOBIC AND ABLEIST BIGOT AND YOU'RE WORSE THAN HITLER REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Everyone in that thread is an exceptional asshole who has been lied to.

Funnily enough, according to the Project AFTER editorial I posted last time, they had a user Shichibukai who was a Stormfront regular.

That article just reinforces my opinion that TVTropes needs to be burned to the ground. Pedophilia, SJWs, a whole bunch of exceptional individuals, and the fact that censorship is basically kryptonite to TVTropes, but they do it anyways, along with the massive Mr. Enter and Channel Awesome circle jerks.

Honestly, that's the most cringeworthy aspect of the whole thing.

I love well written crossover stories, especially the ones that take the time to really bust their ass to make it gel together like Super Robot Wars or Project X Zone.

The Pantheon is lazy as shit by comparison, and it's increasingly become a bloated mess of bad fanfic written by perverts, fantards, and people who don't give a fuck beyond the idea "it would be cool to have X meet X" without coming up with a good reason for them to meet.

I admit I was mildly sympathetic to the concept when ATT first started out, which is why I was reluctant to torch it, but not long after we started I kept seeing what TV Tropes version was turning into, saw what we had so far, and due a lack of interest by anyone else and utter revulsion with what the TVT version had become, I burned ours to ashes and can't say I regret doing so in the least.

And in case I ever get the idea to revive it for some reason, I just go look at the TVT version again, and those thoughts die a quick death once more.

I hate this fucking trope and all of its subpages with all of my black little heart
I went through the Video Games section just for fun, and some of this shit confuses me.

  • Final Fantasy IV drops the anvil that ultimately, the true worth of a man or woman will shine through any outward appearances, and that ultimately, all humans have the capacity for both good and evil; it's all about what you do with it.
I played through IV a shitload of times and I have no idea what the hell this is talking about.

Sonic Battle hits us with an anti-war message in a very personal way. The player and characters spend the game bonding to a new character, a robot named Emerl. Emerl was created to be a weapon of war, but for the most part, Sonic and friends put it out of their minds. He's more than a weapon; he's their friend, and like Shadow, he has heart and couldn't willingly kill anyone. When it is acknowledged, Rouge finds codewords that will supposedly free Emerl's mind, disengaging the destructive programming. Then Dr. Eggman unleashes a weapon to overload Emerl with power, making him go crazy and attempt to destroy the Earth. Sonic is able to stop him, but it's too late for Emerl... his final programming was set so if the weapon ever went out of control, it would terminate itself.
  • Tails hammers the point home:
Someday... If this world finally knows true peace... If this world no longer needs weapons or wars... If we can make this world a truly peaceful place when we're older... If we can make a world where there's only laughter... Do you think we'll be able to play with Emerl again?
Good to know you're getting your deep anti-war messages in a fucking Sonic the Hedgehog game. Jesus, and I liked Sonic Battle too.

Everywhere, even in the subtleties. Look at RAY when you fight it using REX in Guns of the Patriots. See a tail on it? Interesting that the original Metal Gear RAY, the only non-nuclear Metal Gear, the Metal Gear designed not to launch nuclear weapons from any point on the globe, not to defend bigger nuclear-launch platforms like its production-model knockoffs, but to destroy those weapons of mass destruction, is unaccounted for and spared the fate of every other Metal Gear ever seen; destruction.
  • On the same vein, it is worth noting that REX, after being stripped of its railgun (which makes it capable of firing nukes), is now fighting RAY, who in this case is protecting a nuke launching. So, REX now takes the same stance as RAY originally did, which also happens to be the purpose its designer originally intended; defending against nukes. AND IT WINS. So... yeah. It also has the message that, even after doing horrible things, you can still atone for your sins.
What in the everloving fuck are they talking about? This is barely even an "anvil." It's more like a nonsensical interpretation of something Kojima probably forgot or didn't care about. Plus notice the use of the word. "subtleties," which is the exact opposite of an anvil is.

The Web Original section makes me want to fucking die.
This is about the Nostalgia Critic
  • If an innocent child is getting mistreated in a movie, he will more often than not stop the review for a long rant about it. Nice enough, but then you remember that the character is supposed to have been badly abused as a kid. It's almost poignant in a sense.
>Nostalgia Critic
>Poignant

:story::story:

Aren't anvils supposed to be morals? Because this ain't one.

The Onion:
Again with "poignancy." I'm pretty sure Tropers don't understand what that word actually means. It's the fucking Onion, they aren't trying to be poignant.
