Lord in Heaven, help, Nate has offspring.

A sample of TV Tropes overhating someone that doesn't even exist, to the point where they named an entire negative "trope" after said character.
Possibly the second worst thing on the site, other than the massive Channel Autism circlejerk.
I actually think the idea is sound. One culture disliking something from another culture due to their differences. But, this being TV Tropes after all, in practice it's just a giant sperg fest.

True, plus there does tend to be salt generated whenever Tingle is around. Like when he beat out Skull Kid in making it into Hyrule Warriors back when it was only on the Wii U.

He also has edits in Anime Shoes Wiki, TV Database Wiki and Scratchpad.

So he's a Weeaboo, shoe fetishist, TV sperg and logo autist.
Not even a foot fetishist, which isn't even that abnormal any more, but a shoe fetishist? On top of a fart fetishist nonetheless.

At some point you really need to step away from the computer and take a look at your life.

Brother–Sister Incest and Little Sister Heroine as "Imouto moe" is almost a direct image of this trope. Such works and characters are often insanely popular in Japan itself because of the popularity of Star-Crossed Lovers, but beyond its borders will be considered deviant and overly speculative on perverted themes. In particular, the main heroines of most of these works like Kirino received The Scrappy status outside the fandom in the West, and sometimes even in it itself.
  • Kissing Cousins generally receives a softer treatment outside of Japan due to the less powerful Values Dissonance, however in the US, Canada and Eastern Europe, such plot elements or characters are more likely to be met with either mockery or misunderstanding in both CLANNAD or disgust, as in the cases of Elfen Lied and Scum's Wish

the way this is worded is kind of worrying

The biggest problem with this dumbfuckery is that no source is ever cited. It all feels like a handful of butthurt speds desperately trying to have their personal opinions pass for the general population's.
They almost never cite their sources, and when they do, their sources end up being bottom of the barrel trash like Gawker Media and Mr. Enter.

That's something we at ATT have taken a small but vital step to address.

While largely retaining the same "no such thing as notability" rule, for contentious stuff, we demand one or more sources that don't parrot the same crap verbatim.

Tv Tropes is rather devoted to that rule, but their obsession had led to what you mentioned, and we at ATT hope we've learned something from that.

The thing is, cultural differences could easily be rolled into "American Kirby is Hardcore" or they could simplify matters and create one big trope for all kinds of cultural differences called "Lost in Translation".

Hell the name is stupid, i wouldn't call Tingle hated, more that most people tend to be really fucking confused as to why he's around. Hate only really happened in Wind Waker and only because he was tied to the infamous part of the quest where you had to assemble the Triforce piece.
