Just for fun I checked the "Quotes" tab on the Moral Event Horizon page and was surprised to find there was a "Real Life" section. Don't get your hopes up though. Of the quotes, only two of them are from legit writers (Pierre Corneille and T.S. Eliot) and most of them are from Internet critics like Bennett the Sage and one from Trey Parker regarding Cartman. So it's still talking about fictional characters. Except for one.

So I present to you the only instance of a Real Life example of Moral Event Horizon.

"I've met some scumbags in my life, but every scumbag I've met (but Brett Keane) has a bottom. You figure out their scumbaggery and you go: 'Oh, okay. That's his deal.' Every time I think Brett Keane has hit bottom, he fucking mines his way into another chamber below it."
— Paul, Drunken Peasants

This was literally the only quote in a section titled "Real Life" that wasn't about a fictional person so take it for what it is.

My friends... I have discovered the Peak Social Justice of TV Tropes. My friends... TV Tropes... has made "Angry White Man" a Trope.:drink: AKA Trump supporters according to TV Tropes. I will not provide a link to such filth. I only looked at it for three seconds after stumbling upon such an unholy creation. But those three seconds have made me a changed man. If you must see it for yourself I will not stop you...but do not say I did not warn you. A preview. The page quote is by Al Bundy and the first sentence reads, paraphrased, . "A White Man who thinks he's the victim of oppression/oppressed". That was all I saw before I clicked away in disgust. The Social Justice has now reached Trope form and yes, examples are most certainly alowed... TV Tropes has at long last completed its transformation into Rational Wiki with shitty pop culture trivia.:drink:

You're a faggot.

Anywho, link to the page. It's the exact same kinda page as, say, Blonde Republican Sex Kitten or any of their other stereotype pages. I don't think it's an especially good trope and there's fewer than 30 examples on the entire page (no American History X? That movie was all about angry white guys), but if we're gonna have stereotypes as tropes, might as well.

Also, note the lack of Al Bundy page quote.

Really? A terrible cartoon cause a "huge" controversy with everyone? (To each of there own I guess) Also, you could say the same thing with ttg and it would not change.

I have no idea how the show got such a "reputation". I only remember it as a mediocre cartoon that I watched as a kid when there was nothing good on the telly.
