I've never tried Trenchbroom before, though it keeps getting recommended to me as a level creation tool.
I'm going to be trying it for a while. Was going to make some simple maps that won't be released just to see how it works and if it's right for me. But I thought why not make a beginner focused jam out of it?
I've never made Quake or Quake 2 maps before, but I have made a bunch of Half-Life maps in the past (using hammer and JACK). And even though Trenchbroom's Half-Life support is marked as "experimental", if it's good enough for official Half-Life content, it should be good enough for us.
I've not decided on a theme yet, if we have one. Maybe Christmas?
I'll likely use some of my favourite stock texture packs or some vintage texture CDs. Feel free to request things.
