I could believe that a version of it happened. Plenty of troons shoop their selfies to the point where it isn’t recognisable as the same person. I’m guessing that’s the reality - the date was expecting to meet a woman and met an obvious man instead. I can’t believe someone who passes that well would just forget to shave, because surely he’d be doing it every day as a matter of course.

Been seeing a lot of troon gaslighting all over the internet recently surrounding MTF sporting excellence, along these lines.

"I've seen your posts around these topics and I know this is basically your wheelhouse professionally, so I appreciate your response here.

After thinking about this for a bit, my mind wasn't in the right place for this discussion but I think I've got it turned around properly now...

The narrative around this is focused on a very specific hypothetical case, that inspires fear in people:

A very good male athlete transitions, competes in female athletics, and dominates.

I see this scenario being proposed all the time. Besides the fact that I have never seen this actually happen in practicality, the underlying assumption of this perspective is this:

Trans women aren't actually women

Because if they were women, then there's nothing to be "stolen" or lost by women, only a new/rising woman athlete to be celebrated."

Did you know males never transition and dominate in female athletics? Never happens in practicality!

Is there a resource or fact sheet somewhere that concisely collects records that have been set and competitions that have been won to counter this narrative? Maybe contrasting it with FTMs' progress in male sports?

Watching old shows can be great for off-hand comments like these, like how the great majority thought people like Christine Jorgensen were weirdos.
