this comic is pretty much the exact argument I had with my ex boyfriend of 5 years before he ghosted me for making him "uncomfortable" by liking "terfy" posts on twitter lmao
Somewhat unrelated, but it's really interesting that whenever you point out the grooming/rape culture within the transgender community, many of them will get angry and either point out that they themselves are minors, or that they themselves were abused as children. Or both.
I realize that the former is intended as being a sort of "I'm a minor, you shouldn't accuse me of being a predator!" And the latter is intended as, "I was a victim of child sex abuse, you shouldn't accuse me of wanting to inflict the same crap on others I experienced as a child!"
They don't seem to realize that by doing so, they make themselves look much, much worse than if they kept their mouth shut.
One, being a minor doesn't stop you from being a predator. A large minority of child sexual abuse victims are victimized by OTHER children. Which is especially poignant in light of the rape scandal at various Loudoun County public schools.
Two, victims of sexual abuse as children have an unfortunate tendency to repeat the cycle. By pointing out that they were victimized as a child, as a means of shielding themselves, they instead provide their opponents with a convenient explanation for why they're so fucked in the head.
